I hope you're being sarcastic.

It would take a hell of a lot more than a few thousand to fight the US military. And I doubt this militia trash is anything approaching "capable".

Edit: Seriously, I'm willing to bet a single company of the National Guard could defeat these fucks with zero casualties if they weren't worried about collateral damage and bad PR.

"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

You might as well have just quoted the Roof thread twelve times for all the worth opinion pieces have.

Dylan Roof is not generally considered a terrorist - his "instance" is not considered terrorism.

If they hadn't done it bearing arms in direct opposition to the state, threatening use of force, and completely against the spirit of the people they're claiming to be defending, I would agree.

It's not comparable.
If you don't consider the seizing of Crimea to be "by force" because the Russians too did not fire a shot, your perception on what constitutes force is inherently skewed, sir.

It isn't a militia. That's the national guard.
They are attempting to form an army, and they do not recognize America as a country.
Ergo, they have essentially publicly renounced their American citizenship, which is all it takes to have you legally recognized as a foreigner.

They are traitors, seditioners, and committing treason, and rebels however which is pretty much worse, as they have effectively declared war on the US by taking over a federal building. Which carries a lot of really nasty surprises for them when this whole thing ends.

Park a bunch of Abrams around the building is my thought on this. See how long their will holds out then. Hell, fire an empty cartridge at them to give em a scare. I imagine they'll back off in minutes.

Or just surround the area with constant patrols and cut the water if possible. I can't imagine they have much food on hand at all, so it should be a very short siege.

How are they traitors? What oaths have they broken? To which enemy have they given aid and comfort?

Depends on whether you consider them traitors by word of law or traitorous in spirit.

A person wishing to renounce his or her U.S. citizenship must voluntarily and with intent to relinquish U.S. citizenship:

I may sympathize with their position, but by all accounts there's every reason to be suspicious of this, as agent provocateurs are a pretty common tactic or TPTB.

People are pissed, all someone needs to do is tap into that anger and they'll get a response. Yes, the Feds are overstepping their bounds, but methinks we're too far gone for any peaceful change to happen at this point. I hope I'm wrong but you gotta expect the worst.

By all accounts this could be a way for the feds to make militias look bad, or perhaps these guys are just misguided. The Bundy kid might just be trying to make a martyr out of himself too, I dunno.
