The whole city block was firebombed.
These guys are really getting the best of a situation, considering they're isolated from innocent bystanders.

It'd still be illegal, but it'd actually be civil disobedience. That's the premise of a sit-in - except nobody eating in a white's-only diner did so while carrying a rifle and handgun and threatening to shoot any cop who came to arrest them.

nah all they've done is threaten to shoot people, have a bunch of people that have shot people before and had one member almost kill an officer running a roadblock and probably reaching for a gun PEACEFUL PROTEST

The threats are the biggest issue, IMO. Finicum's not there anymore, it's not the other protesters' fault if he reached for a gun, and I don't think he was trying to run over that officer.

Pretty much this.

Although I'd still argue it's not peaceful, as peaceful implies it's not an aggressive move to defy authority, which it is. It's simply psychological aggression as opposed to physical.

actually now i think about it one of the biggest things about peaceful protest is that you don't violently resist being arrested for your crimes, you know, like these guys have repeatedly threatened to do

You don't get away with threats to commit violence just because you haven't done it yet.

exactly, you get arrested to show the world how stupid of a thing this is to get arrested over.

Which, these guys do plpan to do, but their point has been undermined a bit by the whole "we'll die before we see prison" bits.
