The Polish NATO counterintelligence disturbance.

Welcome! Here I'd like to talk about something that happened last night in Poland.

At 1:30 AM a group of Polish Ministry of Defense employees entered the NATO Counterintelligence building in Warsaw. It was not a planned visit. It was actually more like an invasion.

According to the government it was done to put people who are collecting wages that are too high as part of a sinecure out of work. But aren't there any easier methods to do this, like pressuring the counterintelligence head to fire them? And who says those people couldn't just be parts of the opposition who the government wants to replace with their own loyal people?

So, what do you think of it? Should Poland face any consequences of it in NATO? Could it be a part of estabilishing a dictature? Can a government interfere with foreign institutions on its territory? Tell me!

Are you sure NATO's office there doesn't have extraterritoriality privileges? Their headquarters in Brussels does.

From the look of the article it was mainly polish staff in that NATO office.

Well, NATO almost certainly has some right to deal with Poland's intereference.

This is hardly worth kicking Poland out of NATO over. Especially considering that Poland is one of a handful of countries that actually meet their required defense spending levels, which is even more important now that Russia is acting hard with everyone.

As dickish as Turkey is, they give NATO control of the Black Sea and vital air bases to launch strikes against Russia in the event of war.

Seems the new Polish government is trying to send NATO a message. :o
After all, they could have asked for the officer they wanted to replace to show up at the Polish government offices where he would be told that they would be replacing him.

Can we reevaluate Turkey first?

I don't know about Poland, but as a rule, America needs to be way more selective about its allies. I mean, we're in bed with the Saudis for God's sake, though at least they're not in NATO.

This is a worrying trend. The new goverment in Poland has been replacing people almost everywhere. They probably want to consolidate power.
