Personally I am most concerned about the fate of the only copy of Wu-Tang Clan's album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, which Mr. Shkreli paid $2 million for in order to keep it out of everybody's hands.

He didn't buy it to "keep out of everyone's hands". Mr Skreli paid 2 million for it because he's a rich idiot and wanted to buy a 2 million dollar bragging right. The record was always meant to be sold as an exclusive one-off to some rich idiot. Part of the terms of the sale was that the buyer would be unable to share any of the tracks with the public for several decades. Mr Shkreli is a dick, but the whole "never let the public listen to the record" wasn't his idea.


On the subject of the record, my friend posed an interesting question. If the record was collected as evidence during the investigation, would it be possible to eventually do a FOI act request on its contents?

I heard they had a lot of negotiations before the sale, so I suspect it might be a breach of contract for them to release it. Who knows, but it would still be funny.
