Granted, I knew I had libertarian and right wing leanings, but how the fuck do I side with Cruz that much? I'm not a social conservative, and while I'm religious, I'm not a fundamentalist like Cruz.

Conservatives problem is thinking most Americans are conservative. They are not. And Ted Cruz is on the radical right wing extremist fringe bordering fascism. Most Americans are not.

Fascism is the merger of corporate and government power. Think GOP and their corporate pals. The GOP has never seen a deregulation or corporate welfare bill it didn't like.

On what grounds? Those are private funds, which means that he'd need a legal foundation for seizing them (IOW, due process).

He could declare an emergency and order it done. Unconstitutional and illegal, yes, but he could probably do it.

If Trump is the nominee the one thing I want to see at the convention is Christie being given a speaking slot on the last day and then, when it comes time to choose, he isn't the VP pick. And then they force him on stage so he can introduce the actual VP pick.

He will when it affects him personally. Once he finds out he can't choose his son because they both live in New York, he'll probably clamour for it to be repealed, but he'll have to submit. He can't continue on if he doesn't....not that he'd win anyway.

Or just pick him and see what happens. Enforcing the Constitution is not an easy nor quick progress. Any case would take years to resolve.
