I wasn't sure if this belonged in the Republican Primaries Megathread or if someone's already posted about it, but this seems to be an interesting development.

So according to the White House, Trump's recent statement about banning all Muslims from entering the country disqualifies him from running for the presidency, citing it as violating the oath every president must make. However, the White House hasn't officially banned him from running, as his campaign still seems to be in full speed. But say he were to get enough votes and won, then what? I'm not exactly sure, but the White House's statement seems like it'd be a pretty heavy blow to Trump support. What do you think, NSG? Is this the end to Trump's run?

That's my normal line, but Trump is so bad right now that I'm worried he'll drag parts of the debate and popular opinion with him. Maybe not win (though even a risk of that is terrifying), but still shift the race in line with some of his warped views, and make them seem 'normal', or 'popular'. I don't think I'd even want the chance of him getting the GOP nomination.

I honestly think what Trump is up to is getting Hillary elected. I believe his plan is to displace the chances of all valid Republican candidates from getting traction in the polls. He then creates a monster that gains traction which makes the Right look loony. When it is too late for a valid Republican candidate to gain traction against Hillary, Trump will step aside and the relief will create a groundswell for Clinton's election.

My question is what was he promised by Hillary for his charade he is so perfectly executing?
