Should North Korea convert to Islam?

Postby Crusader occupied mecca » Tue Dec 08, 2015 3:12 pm

So we all know about the eccentric regime in North Korea. It is a racialised police state that takes the command economy imposed on Korea by the Japanese colonial administration, Japanese empire style racial views (but with Koreans as the master race and the Dear Leader replacing the emperor), adds some Soviet-looking window dressing, and calls it Juche.

We also all know Islam: the religion/ideology of some of the world's most repressive dictatorships/monarchies, as well as other nations that provide cover to the aforementioned tyrannies, because #notallmuslims.

What the house of Islam has but North Korea lacks are threefold: energy, capital, and ideological cover. Energy shortages are a if not the major bottleneck for the North-Korean economy. Also, other investment from the wealthy islamic areas would help them too. Finally, North Korea would be covered ideologically, as anyone who tries to think critically about the situation there would be dismissed as Islamophobic by the left in the west.

So North Korea has much to gain from converting to Islam. It would only require a minimal change to Juche anyway, the racialist state can stay intact, as nobody reads the dear leaders' books anyway and Juche is a sham ideology designed to disguise the radical nationalist reality.

But now that the Soviet window dressing is obsolete, and cannot bring in foreign aid anymore, it is time to convert the whole nation to Islam. Then oil and money can flow int North Korea once again as it did during the Kim Il Sung days.

So what would be the disadvantages, from the point of view of the regime? This conversion appears to make them look less Korean. However that is an acceptable risk because if they survive, it will actually make non-Islamic Koreans look like they are selling out their heritage, stalling the regime's demise.

I cannot think of any other disadvantages to the Kim regime, but maybe you can. But I say they should convert now and get that oil flowing right away. Do you agree regarding this fantastic idea for the government of North Korea? If not, why not? And if so, then what feature of Islamisation do you see as most helpful to the Dear Leader?
The Baghdad "battery" was just a jar to store scrolls over-hyped by a self-serving archaeologist.

The crusades were a counter-attack called for by the legitimate government of the relevant lands, the Byzantine Empire.

They'd only do it if Kim Jong-Un gets to call himself Allah.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Gott en himmel. Is the DPRK a dictatorship? Yes. But it also has constituted the means of production primarily for the benefit of working people and has endured imperialist encirclement and crippling sanctions. I wouldnt stand for such disrespect to a third world country trying to self determine

If North Korea did turn to Islam; it would be much like Iran, probably Shia majority as they would believe Muhummad Jong Un (Kim Jong Un) is part of muhummads family...

North Korea does not need to change its religion. They need to dispose of the Juche. The belief that they need a self-sustaining nation is killing the population.

I feel like you're trying to make some subtle political commentary on juche and Islam here, but all I can make out is a load of bullshit based on a severe misunderstanding of both so if that was your goal you failed. If you were serious, all I can do is laugh.
