In remembrance of Dyakovo

Many of you know NSG's own Dyakovo. You've probably seen him in debates or had a discussion with him.

There's no good way to put this, but Dyakovo was involved in an accident some time ago and has passed away last week. I know many people here liked Dyakovo. He was straight to the point and frank. He didn't waste everyone's time with honeyed words and his jokes were brilliant. Sometimes they were a bit too much for the more sensitive folks here, and some made you feel like a horrible human being for laughing.

You might not have agreed with him all the time and maybe you didn't quite get along with him. I know I didn't always see eye-to-eye, but fuck it I had nothing but respect for him.

This thread serves as a tribute to Dyakovo, use it to share your thoughts and words.
[Moderator Edit - Cogitation] The NationStates Moderation Team has good reason to believe that this death notification is genuine. Out of concerns for the privacy of those most deeply affected, we will not be sharing any details about how we know this (beyond what Dyakovo's closest friends and loved ones choose to publish). Please conduct yourselves in this thread as though you were actually attending a real-world wake at a funeral home.

I am truly saddened, I had a lot of time and admiration for Dyakovo. Somehow it is really difficult to resolve your feelings when people you only know online die.

I have not much more to say than in the original announcement in TET, but I will keep his family in my prayers.

Wow...I knew he was on here for years and he's been a staple of general since I joined the site...I'm not the best with expressing sadness over online message, but this is horrible. My thoughts go out to his family. I hope he's in a better place, if indeed there is one.

Holy...holy shit. I...I'm at a loss for words. I wasn't close to him and didn't always see eye to eye, but I did respect him greatly and overall thought he was a good person. My first real debate when I first joined was between myself and him. And he kicked my ass. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. My condolences and best wishes go out to his family and loved ones and may he rest in peace. I know I will greatly miss his presence here, for it was a good one. Which is almost certainly just a sliver of what impact and good he brought to those who knew him really well in real life. RIP Dya, we will miss you.

If there is a God, he's about to get into one hell of a debate when Dya arrives.

Dya was awesome because of his lack of filters when it came to agknowledging other people's feelings. Sure, he crossed the lines a few times, which wasn't cool, but his bluntness was definitely a uality I admired. He was really intelligent, and I enjoyed reading his posts arguing with others, and we had a few conversations together that I enjoyed because of how real they were.
Dya said what he felt, I liked that, he also had fantastic sexy flags, which was difficult due to me twisting his personality with the images he put there. I enjoyed Dyakovo's stay here, and I'll continue to remember who he was and what he stood for.

There's little more that I can say than he was as close a friend it's possible to be purely online and I will miss his unique presence immensely. Have a good rest, man. До свидания. Deepest sympathies to his wife and kin.

That is terrible. I... kinda actually recognize the name, makes it sad that I won't see it posting anymore.

Yeah, some of those flags were really eye-catching.

I am bad with words, but I think that while he could be very blunt and sarcastic, he was still a real nice guy! So... Bye.

Dyakovo was one of the first people I think I debated with on here, when I joined last December. Regardless of the topic, Dya was definitely sharp-witted, and while we didn't always agree, differences and discussions are what make NSG such an interesting thing to be a part of. Thus, Dya made this site a lot more interesting with his presence. Prayers for him and his family.

RIP Dya.

RIP Dyakovo :(

We had our arguments, but you were a good person. May you find peace in the afterlife my friend.

What.

Oh, goddamnit. That's a punch in the gut; I didn't know Dyakovo all that well, but from what I saw of his posts he was a swell guy. There goes a person I had regarded as one of the constants that made NationStates what NationStates is, and made the process of reading through certain General threads that slight bit less unbearable.

Rest in peace. You'll be missed.

His sig seems oddly appropriate: "Don't take life so serious... It isn't permanent."

Goodness me that's awful! I haven't always agreed with everything he's said or his very concise posting style but he always seemed reasonable and level-headed and has been a major contributor here for several years (as long as I can remember being here anyway).

Rest in peace.

So, uh, I'm not good with words, and I don't post much in NSG, but I have seen Dyakovo around here sometimes, and I thought he was pretty cool...

Fuck.

... Rest in peace. You'll be missed.

Oh no! I remember talking to him on NSG! When I first saw this thread, I thought his nation was deleted or some other in-game incident occurred, yet this is truly saddening and really touched my heart. Let's hope he's fine up there now. :(
