I'll say something about Dya that maybe won't be as immediately evedent given how he went about it, but more than anyone I've known over the decade plus here at NSG, Dya gave a shit about the community.

It maybe doesn't really seem like it because he didn't give a shit about your opinion. Of him or the world at large or your ideas...but that was kind of part of it. That your opinions were not precious.

But he was also the only reason I even know that a facebook group exists (never even looked it up, but via Dya I know it's out there somewhere), and any time I found myself going, "Who the fuck is this cat and what's they're deal?" most of the time it was Dya who knew. He started the selfie-fueled TET that is the 'what do you look like' and only used his same four photos as the starter fuel to get it going. It never felt about ego for him to me but rather an actual interest in the community that is NSG.

The guy that didn't give a shit about your opinions gave a shit that the place where you could do that was an actual community without being a cult of personality, without being cloying, without being intrusive or insistent. Just by paying attention. He didn't give a shit about your opinions, but he quietly gave a shit about you in his own way.

We'll always have sarcastic people. We'll always have witty people. We'll always have caustic people. But someone like Dya? We might not get someone like him again, and we'll suffer for it.

A while ago I wondered why Dyakovo had fallen silent, I assumed real life interfered. To learn today that it was death instead, now that came as a shock. He would probably have mocked me for it if he had still been around, because such was his way. It's a bloody shame he's not around anymore, I wish his family, friends and relatives strength.

It've always felt odd when someone I know exclusively online dies. The only interaction I've had with them is words on a screen. People I know in real life almost never understand this. There was a person behind those words. A person who was snarky, sarcastic bastard, but also a person who really cared about the community here. That person put words on my screen. Words I'll never see again.

Wow. It's going to be weird not having that guy around. Although I didn't know him all that well, I'll always remember Dyakovo for being a straight shooter. RIP white Luis Guzman.

I liked Dya, and I always found him funny. It's saddening to hear of him passing away, and in many ways, it feels like we've lost something particularly special -- not just for NSG, but as a Community. His ability to cheer us up, get out a few laughs, and be overtly sarcastic while doing so -- in many ways, I always found humbling.

My condolences to his family, and to Dya,

I think the best way to describe exactly how much we'll all miss him is that myself, merely a lurker, will miss him. Blunt, brutal, to the point, and honest. I didn't interact with him much, so I can't pretend to be anywhere near as close to him as some here, but not seeing his name around here will take a very long time to accept, never mind get used to.

I never expressed it, but I respected Dyakovo very much for how forward he could be with words, even if they were so blunt. I'll certainly miss him, he was a good man.

NSG won't be the same without him for a long time, I feel.

Dyakovo, we rarely agreed on anything. When you were alive, you were able to frustrate me in a way no one else on NSG could. Now you're gone, and with you, a sharp wit, an intelligent mind, and a friend to so many here. I'm at a loss for what to say. Never in a million years would I have imagined this possible. We didn't see eye to eye, but now I'll never get to see your blunt, cuttingly sarcastic posts ever again, and I realize I already miss it. We weren't friends, and you probably never would have expected me to have anything nice to say about you. You probably wouldn't have had it any other way.

Rest in peace, Dyakovo. NSG will be forever emptier in your absence.

Dyakovo was one of the first people I saw on NSG when I was starting to be active in NSG back in 2013. I still remember me and him arguing with Christians in that one thread, heck, the posts are probably still there.

So he was someone I regularly saw on NSG, back when I was regularly active on it. While he was not someone I knew as a friend or in any personal way, he was still someone who was a common sight here. While I didn't and still don't agree with certain views he held and personal debating style, he was still a character. One which NSG will not be the same without. I wish his family the best in this time of mourning, and hope they find the strength to move on from such a loss. RIP.

I am honestly at a loss for words. Dya was one of my first friends when I joined NS, and he really made me feel welcome in this community. Even if most of our conversations started and finished with him insulting me. He, idk, I can't properly express who he was to me. The words just aren't strong enough.
