my current sig was designed by him, I found him a general pain in the ass but I think that was his charm. To his remembrance.

Dya usually was a pain in the ass. Wouldn't have... wait a minute.

This is quite shocking. I was just debating him a few weeks ago and now... to think that he's gone forever...

I'm sorry, I don't even know what to say.

I'll be honest, I never communicated with him, to my knowledge. With that said, seeing all the posts here, and from what little I can tell of him, it is apparent that he was a well respected and well loved person in our community. I wish to offer my deepest condolences to his family and all those who knew him and enjoyed his company.

With that said, I will wish him well, for coming to the end of one journey and the beginning of another. I hope he finds joy and happiness and that his next life fairs well, wherever or whoever he is now, and that his spirit of this life enjoys the company of his ancestors.

Dyakovo's last post in the NSG before he fell to the misfortune of accident...

I never really spoke with Dyakovo much, nor did I frequent the threads that he did, but it's always nice to see us all sticking together when tragedy strikes. If there's any kind of silver lining to this, it's that.

My condolences go to his family and friends; I'm sure he was a great guy.

Damnit Dyakovo, you asshole. You didn't give a shit about people's opinions of you that much, but you sure as hell cared about people.

I think that last line may be the most accurate statement about him I've seen.

That was his way, offering up a painfully blunt truth while talking to someone. A fitting farewell, such as it is.

Anyway, how did OP know that Dya has fallen?

Dyakovo had friends on NS who knew him outside of NS; word travelled down the grapevine.

There's no good way to put this, but Dyakovo was involved in an accident some time ago and has passed away last week. I know many people here liked Dyakovo. He was straight to the point and frank. He didn't waste everyone's time with honeyed words and his jokes were brilliant. Sometimes they were a bit too much for the more sensitive folks here, and some made you feel like a horrible human being for laughing.

You might not have agreed with him all the time and maybe you didn't quite get along with him. I know I didn't always see eye-to-eye, but fuck it I had nothing but respect for him.

This thread serves as a tribute to Dyakovo, use it to share your thoughts and words.

Wow.. That's sad :( I always liked him, thought he was funny. Semper Fi Marine!

I think most of us are in the same boat in regards to not knowing what to say. He'll I'm still in shock!

It never occured to me that someone on Nationstates could actually die, in real life.
Whats even more shocking to me now is that this may not even be the first case.

It's not, I can think of 3 more cases at least.

But, let's keep to the topic of Dyakovo :'(

What I liked most about Dya is that he did care. He may have been a sarcastic person on the face of it, but occasionally you could see he did legitimately care about us.

RIP.

My memories of him were mostly positive; he was a cool guy. Sad someone he had to pass away too early. :(

Cool. Taken out of context it almost seems in a way like Dyakovo saying "I'll live. Trust me on it, despite what others may say."

No offence, as I'm mourning his loss, but what accident did he died in? I haven't gotten the full scoop due to me dismissing it as just rumours.

I also forgot to bid Dyakovo farewell and to rest in peace; didn't exactly engage in any conversation with him, but followed him just long enough. You'll be sorely missed.
