Damn. Well, I never knew Dyakovo or anything, but wow. Truly shocking to find out the news. For a guy I never knew… just… I have no words for this. An online user has something happen to him in real life… truly heartbreaking. :( :(

I wondered what happened. And the fact I'll never see him again makes me sad. I give my condolences and must move on...

I didn't know him personally, but I wish the best luck to any of the loved ones he has left behind. This is shocking, and surreal.

I did find his sarcasm funny sometimes, and his signature was as well. Especially the whole "B'awww you're mean!" bit. May he rest in peace.

I learned it a couple days back.

I didn't even know people had this sticky here. The first mention, in fact, was today from United Marxist Nations in which I saw that people knew.

Well, there's little more I can say other than I saw him as a really cool person and, while I could not stand him at times, he was someone I had a lot of respect for and friendly feelings towards. He was a great person to talk with when you were not in a debate with him.

He's sorely missed.

We felt that there were likely several people in this position; we were also concerned that a rumour could potentially leak out leading to the news breaking in an negative manner.

While we were aware of the potential issues in doing so unilaterally, ultimately we felt that a discreet announcement in TET - subsequently followed by encouraging Esternial to make this thread - would allow the news to break in a controlled and positive manner.

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for reacting in a way that emphasises the positive aspects of the NationStates community; I know that Dyakovo valued that sense of community (though often disagreeing with individual members thereof, of course), and I'd like to think he would have been genuinely happy to see NSG come together as a community here - even if we would no doubt have both preferred for him to be here to see it in person, and profoundly regret the events that caused it to happen.

I never liked him, to be honest. He always just came off as a bit of an ass to me, but that's not really a nice thing to say about some who recently passed away. Maybe it was just me?

Nevertheless, I respected how straightforward and blunt he was, no beating around the bush. Thats something I can respect in a person. Rest in peace.

Thank you. Over the years NSG has come to feel like a family to many, myself included. Albeit, an often deranged and heavily argumentative family at times hence my need for the occasional break. Still, when we lose one of our own it hits home. A bit of my faith in humanity is restored to see people coming together like this in a respectful manner regardless of whatever their relationship with Dya was.

Yea, NSG is a pretty erratic community, and to be fair not everyone who comes as a new person can stand it.

However, as a community, it is also one of the best I have ever been part of.

Another generalite passes.

You always made me smile with your mod report titles and whenever you posted in NSG. Straightforwardness is something few people have, but everyone can appreciate, even if not everyone says they do.

Wherever you are now, you were pretty good while you were here.

Rest in peace, Dyakovo, and well-wishes to your family.

Today saying anything would be a felony. I can't put to words how much I will miss him. He was one of the few forum go-ers I can consider a forum buddy, even though he might not have said the same towards me.

I did give him a laugh, and now like that, may he rest in peace.
