Not all nations are appropriate to have liberal democracies, especially melting pot nations like Singapore(which is now very very very peaceful, happy and rich), and large uncontrollable nations like Philippines(still does not have even a benevolent dictatorship, so is currently a colossal mess).

Should point out that Mexicos war of Independence against Spain lasted around 10 years. The Spanish would not let them go. But when the Spanish finally pulled out of Mexico they also pulled out of Central America. Central America did not have to go through the struggles Mexico and other nations had to go through in order to achieve independence. Unfortunately, a century later some of those Central American nations went through very destructive civil wars caused generally by outside players.

They were part of the same entity. It was not an either or situation.

Why do you identify more with your polish ethnicity?

I grew up in a Polish household learning Polish traditions rather than Australian ones. I find that Australians are blunt, rude and arrogant people with no regards for other people's feelings. They only care for the short term and care little for the community.

And as an Australian with an Aussie dad and everyone else in the entire family immigrant I can safely say people like you are responsible for the small amount of racism left in this country.

I'm Irish first and foremost, mainly because it pisses off the racist left to remind them of the centuries of discrimination that the Irish suffered at the hands of other white races.

Argentina, Chile and Mexico love the Irish. The Argentine Admiral Brown, who was from Ireland, helped in there wars of Independence by starting the Argentine Navy which he headed. He is considered a hero in Argentina. Then we have in Chile, Bernardo O'Higgins whose father was from Ireland. And in Mexico the battalion of .San Patricio which was made up of Irishmen are today celebrated has heros.

Having said that, it seem Argentinians whose great grandparents came from Ireland have a tough time getting a Irish Passport.
