1. Mods are Gods. Don't question them. If you do, do it in the moderation forum.
2. Bandwagons are shitty. The first anti-christmas thread didn't break any rules, and wasn't locked. The anti-tree thread was made by someone who was DOS. The anti-consumerism one (mine) just came in at a shitty time, had a baity title, was assumed to be bandwagon, and was just one christmas thread too many.

^-- Pretty much nailed it in one. It wouldn't be the first time we've tamped down on a "fad." If someone wants to get a larger discussion going on banning various Christmas/winter holiday iconography and such, we might consolidate it into a single megathread. But we don't need a slew of one-off "Xmas thing should be banned!" threads clogging up the front page.
