Christmas Trees Should be Banned

The immense societal impact of the so called "Christmas tree" is enormous. But the fact of the matter is that it is culturally insensitive and asinine to assume that Jesus Christ should have a tree named after him. There's too many of em, but there's only one Christ so take down the trees!

I understand that we as a society are prone to believe we should respect religious beliefs and traditions for the sake of freedom, but that's bullshit. No more freedoms, no more traditions, and no more trees! Screw nature, it's bad. Rawr

I thought this was an IM thread when I clicked it. Since the OP's argument doesn't make a penny's worth of sense, I'm not seeing the need to defend the evergreen that's currently in my house.

Until at least the mid-1800s, Christmas trees were practically unknown to European civilization. Given the speed with which they insinuated themselves across the Western world's consciousness, one can't help but wonder if our ancestors all sleepwalked through an Invasion of the Body Snatchers-level event, to the point that "we" all now take their presence for granted.
