It's hard to live without "Frosty the Snowman" by Jan & Dean. Pretty much impossible.

I was thinking "Home for the Holidays" by Perry Como and "Jingle Bell Rock" by Chubby Checker & Bobby Rydell. If we're going 60s, I would've gone with "Little Saint Nick". I do have to say my favorite holiday song, "Cold, Cold Winter" doesn't actually mention Christmas/Santa.

I would argue that considering something immoral because a book told you it was immoral is a stupid reason to hate a group of people.

Except that is quickly changing as many Christian denominations have become much more liberal.

For example, according to the Pew Research Center: Attitudes on Same Sex Marriage by Religious Affiliations

Religious Affiliation20012015Change
Catholics40%57%+17%
White Mainline Protestants38%62%+24%
Unaffiliated61%82%+21%

Percentages are representative of those favoring same sex marriage.

And I would argue that hating an entire religious group because of the actions of a few is a stupid thing to do.

One shouldn't hate all Christians because a few hate homosexuals. Likewise, one should not hate all Muslims because a few are terrorists and one should not hate all Jews because a few launch missiles at Palestine.

Funnily enough, you've misinterpreted the word used in this situation. The other two categories listed are Catholics and White Mainline Protestants. The third category is unaffiliated. Not unaffiliated from Christianity or religion, but unaffiliated from a specific Christian denomination. An appropriate synonym would be "independent."

"Most said religious institutions can benefit communities through their social outreach, but an overwhelming majority thinks religious organizations are too focused on rules, money and power and too involved in politics." - Pew Research Center

In this circumstance, the unaffiliated category still represents Christians, just Christians who distance themselves from identifying with any specific denomination. These could simply just be Christians who adhere to the Bible and believe in God but don't agree with the varying doctrines of, say, Catholics or Presbyterians or Baptists, etc.

Today's mindset: "Oh no there's something I don't like... It must be banned! How should it be banned? Well, uh, like, I don't know... Government?? Yeah government! Let's get the government to ban it!!!"

Not only is this kind of mindset very expensive in taxpayer dollars (which is your money), but it's an extremely childish and intolerant mindset to expect the government to cater to your own specific needs for whatever reason, while the entire country pays for your needs. In the end, if this mindset continues, there will be so many things banned that we'll have nothing fun and worthwhile anymore. Culture will be destroyed as more and more people realize that it is acceptable to ban things they deem offensive, without realizing that that's not how things work in life. Do you really expect a government to waste its time trying to make sure no one gets offended by anything? Time to grow up.

Children already realise Santa isn't real at around 10-12. Santa personally isn't real because I don't have a chimney. Let children grow up around illusion. It either gives them a sense of wisdom and ingenuity or it makes them cry. If they keep believing in Santa, then let them be. St. Nicholas is/was real. Santa isn't. (I think. You can never be sure he's fictitious.)

Combine those two guys and you get Sinterklaas, of which Santa Claus is a systematically dereligionized derivate.
