First, according to Marx, is primitivism/tribal societies, then capitalism, then socialism or social democracy, then communism.

Agreed. A society who uses capitalism is in its toddler years, socialism is the teen years then communism is the mature years. Communism is best impletmented in a society that is in its prime, when humans have fully reached its potential, when we have fully used technolagy, and eliminated crime, hunger, poverty, and greed. Then when we dont need a government anymore, it dissolves into a society where everyone is happily equal. That is Communism.

That's for a different forum.

Yeah, I am a little too late,
The state of our government is now irreversible, we probably won't ever go back to democracy

We had the power before, we can do it again. Bernie Sanders is a nice start, if we keep electing people like him. A huge problem is the media. A HUGE PROBLEM

Media is biased, no doubt about that.
I'm hoping for Trump to get elected, his combination of good tax policies+anti corruption policies will be good for the country, in my opinion at least.

Trump is extremely racist, and if he is elected it will be an embarassment. He knows nothing about politics and doesnt have the proper expierance. Just him running proves America to be a democracy. And he needs to get a filter for what he says sometimes. The only good thing he brings to the table is his passion.

Sanders is a Washington Insider, he's been in Congress since the 80s and hasn't had a real job in his life. All his life he has been using taxpayer dollars to give himself a $174,000 a year income. His socialist policies will destroy the country.
Now, let us continue what the forum title is about, whether or not America is an ''oligarchy''

Whenever the media tries to make Trump or Sanders look bad, they rise in the polls.

Im sorry your thinking of Bernie Sanders. Case in point, half the people in the country wont vote for him because he is a socialist. But when you ask what it means they have no idea

Funny, I was under the impression that it always was an oligarchy....back in the 1790's only the Landed Gentry(technically Adult White Male Property owners) could vote. Some have even called the installment of the current US constitution a coup d'etat or conspiracy.

...heh... what do you guys think about our new system of government...

Oligarchy is a form of government which means (at least by modern day definition)
The economic elite have far much more political power than the majority, who has little to no power.
When we vote it only chooses which oligarch will take a certain place, the majority of the time the oligarchs only care what the economic elite think and not of the majority.

I'am justing asking if we Americans are going to be okay.

It always was, and that is what the Constitution intended.

They try and make both Trump and Sanders look bad tbh. (For instance, editing answers to questions, asking retarded questions, etc) But it never works, both of them rise in the polls

Yea because the people had enough and are slightly smart. They think "oh the government hates them! So they must be good!"

That's kinda true. Constitution was made by the elite of the time, for the elite and parts of the middle class of the time.

Remind me, how is Bernie Sanders related to the thread?

Furthermore, the vast majority of US media is going berserk over Sanders. They can't get enough of him.

I eat home-made food and for special occasions, go to a Manhattan steakhouse. MY FOOD IS GREATTT. (btw, I'm extremely underweight and effectively a twig)

It's tastier. I don't know about you, but I like eating my bacon with twinkies.

Diabetes is for my future self to worry about.

Arguably, it always has been. Almost the entirety of the Founding Fathers were independently wealthy and very well-connected. That's why the President of the United States (and originally the Senate) is elected by an Electoral College rather than by direct democracy: because the enlightened elite wanted to ensure it was only the enlightened elite took office.

America's been an oligarchy for a long, long time.
