What Country Would You Want to Live In?

Postby Rancilia » Mon Feb 08, 2010 4:39 am

So, what country would you want to live in? Why would you want to live there, what kind of food they have, what sports they like, and so on.

I'm considering Germany and France as possibilities.
Btw, they're quite civilized places, so you can find almost anything in a supermarket there.

I live in the USA, and personally wouldn't want to live anywhere else, for obvious reasons.. But, if I had to leave America, I would get back to my routes in Italy. Italy is a very interesting place, with its culture, the food(Being an Italian boy, ESPECIALLY THE FOOD), and just the land itself is interesting.

Well, if you had to live somewhere for reasons other than getting rich, where would you live?

I don't know for sure, probably somewhere in Europe. There's a lot of history there.

hm, probably Buffalo, NY, USA, since thats where most my family is, and I'm not likely to find a much more free place anyway. Certainly not enough to justify a move away from family.

That said, I wouldn't mind spending a month in every country on earth, er... except the really shitty ones :P

Probably Ireland; I have citizenship already, it's right next door, most of my family and a lot of my friends live there, and its problems are currently common to here anyway.

The UK, I suppose. Or Canada. Or Scandinavia or Switzerland.

Relatively old places, with not too bad living standards.

Scandinavia? Everything's expensive, drink is ridiculously expensive, and they have a weird social contract.

The social contract involves having that money taken away by your elders and betters in greater percentage. You don't care about the taxes of where you live? Bloody hell…

The more that I see of my own country, the more I want to move to the States. Free speech, free religion, cheap living, and minimal censorship. Plus the boys are hot too!

I already picked Ireland, for obvious reasons. I like the weather, the landscapes, the people, and the food and drink is getting better.

If I had to choose another country, I guess I would go to Canada. Spent a few months there, in Montreal, and loved the place.
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

Fair enough if that's your thing, but if it is not it is certainly something to take into consideration.

The world class services do not include anything to make up for the ridiculously expensive drink so short of brewing moonshine in the countryside as is popular in Norway,I say to hell with it.
