Oh ass to that. I know more than one trans woman who's offended that a trans woman who in the great scheme of things had it super easy and then killed someone with their car gets and award for advancing the trans cause by doing nothing other than simply existing.

And that's perfectly reasonable. As opposed to being offended because the award has been sullied, as though it was highly prestigious and exclusive.

Well maybe in casual conversation (I didn't know you were trans).

Like how gays marrying descerated the sanctity of marriage and now evil spirits are going to cause divorce rates to skyrocket. *nod*
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

I'd say it would reduce divorce rates over the long run as people won't be marrying heterosexually just to keep appearances when they're gay or lesbian.

Unfortunately, celebrity is sometimes a rather easy way to bring attention to something. Like how AIDS was for the most part dismissed as The Fag Plague up until Magic Johnson announced he was HIV positive.

One thing I haven't seen is what exactly this award is supposed to be for - is it actually an accomplishment, or is it the females-only equivalent of Time's Person of the Year, going to the most newsworthy woman of the year, for better or for worse? If it's supposed to be the latter, I have no problem with Caitlyn Jenner winning it, and would have no problem with her winning Time Magazine's Person of the Year next month. Regardless of what you think of transgender individuals, or of Jenner in particular, you can't deny she's been newsworthy. And even if you're a nut who thinks she's as bad as Hitler, he won Person of the Year too, as did Joseph Stalin and Ayatollah Khoemeni, among other not-so-good individuals. So I really don't see the issue there.

Of course, if this award is supposed to go to a woman who actually achieved something for good, as opposed to simply being newsworthy, Caitlyn Jenner doesn't deserve it just for being transgender.

When they awarded it to people that actually did things, which I'll admit is OOC for Glamour

I thought we were all on board that Caitlyn Jenner is an amazing beautiful woman who had the exquisite bravery of a beautiful butterfly flying against the wind.

Maybe it's a shame she wasn't flying instead of driving.

Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize. Turns out people who give out awards don't always make good decisions.

I would suggest, however, that this isn't a terribly important award, and that this hubbub might be making an erupting volcano out of a slight incline.

I can't believe that such a prestigious award was given to Caitlyn Jenner! My faith in Glamour Magazine is shattered forever!

Next thing you know, respected journals like People, Cosmo and OK! will be following suit with this PC disgrace! What is happening to our culture??

Wait a second, I never read any of that trash to begin with. I guess I don't care about this issue at all.

Nevermind.
Your faith does not amuse me. Fundamentalism is a singularly unfunny disposition- A Rightist Puppet

In short, "fascist" is a modern word for "heretic," branding an individual worthy of excommunication from the body politic. The right uses otherwords ("reverse-racist," "feminazi," "unamerican," "communist") for similiar purposes, but these words have less elastic meanings. Fascism, however, is the gift that keeps on giving. - Jonah Goldberg, revisited.

No one should be given an award for being born a certain way. The entire thing was a joke. You earn awards based off of what you do not what you are.

The only reason an irrelevant, trivial award is being screeched about like someone publically defecated in the Vatican is an excuse for transphobia.

Giving the female of the year award to someone simply because they went through a gender change.

It's not that simple. She's famous because of her relationship with the Kardashians. When she realized her true ginger, she overnight became America's transginger.
