Violence solves a lot of things, actually. If it didn't, why would anyone ever go to war?

Hell, even riots. Without riots, revolts, etc, women might not be able to vote, child and fair labor laws wouldn't exist, slavery might still be prominent, we wouldn't have gay rights...

Saying "violence doesn't solve anything" is purely dishonest, especially coming from someone who is not a hardline pacifist.

Why don't you name a time where violence did not simply cause more unrest and more violence down the road?

And the woman is going to be tried on hate charges, as per the OP.

I don't see how a gun would have helped this situation. The woman throws the glass in the victims face, the victim pulls a gun and then what? Pulling the gun isn't going extract the glass from her face and if she shoots the woman who threw it then she'd be up for charges for excessive use of force. Or the other woman/partner could have also drawn a gun. If the woman who threw the glass wasn't thinking hard enough to realize she was guaranteed to be arrested for throwing the glass, I can't imagine her thinking hard enough to consider the possibility that the victim might have been armed.

If you look at most of the big incidents of cops killing unarmed black people, it's mostly happening in the northern parts of the country and not the Deep South. Just saying, our region gets so much blame for racism because of slavery and the Civil Rights movement, but I'm willing to make the claim that the tables seem to be turning and that the North is becoming the more racist of the two.

Missouri's south of the Mason-Dixon Line, Mizzou's in the SEC, and was a slave state. Missouri not in the south? Nope.

To be fair I did say Deep South. Most Southerners from the Gulf Coast States do not consider anything above them to be the South.

I'm a Missouri(ite?), and while there are some connections we have to the south, we certainly have our own culture separate from their's. A southerner still sticks out like a sore thumb here, even when outsiders usually can't tell the difference between us.

That's because MO is considered Mid-Western. Even though Southern MO does has a few similarities with the South, particularly with religion. But no, MO is most definitely not Southern.
