I can look at the election results and believe that the people of Burma did what was best for them. I trust people to vote, it looks like you might not. Anything is better than a near-genocidal military junta.

And I can think of two places where Westeners thought they knew who would govern them better than the people who voted.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Only when it was politically convenient, anyway.

As a Filipino, I applaud our fellow Southeast Asian nation for their "legitimate" democratic milestone, especially after a time of tyranny (<insert military junta here>). The 1990 election is a truly legitimate democratic milestone, as with all other elections during and after a period of tyranny, but the junta had to ruin it now, didn't it?

This nation USES NS Stats, EXCEPT ON THE FOLLOWING: population, economy, taxes (but it's close), safety (we're a tad safer), corruption
This nation is Sweden with a sizeable portion of Japan and Monster Girl Encyclopedia, as well as a bit of Touhou.
The United States of America is too mainstream.
Pro: Democracy, Libertarianism, Nordic Model, Sweden, Japan, Israel/Palestinian Harmony (I am a dreamer)
Anti: Communism (not Socialism), Dictatorship, Conservatism, Islamism, Gabenism, American Imperialism, China

No kidding. When you said they voided the results, I was seriously like "no no NO FUCK NO NOT AGAIN" before my skepticism kicked in.

Anyway, what do y'all think of the election committee's policy of slowly releasing the results like this? Seems pretty shady to me, and I can't bear having to wait a week after the election for the full "official" results, even though we all know what's they're probably going to be.

Pretty odd how someone called "The Greater Aryan Race" is actually pretty sane and not a white supremacist or authoritarian, while someone with the name "Saiwania", which sounds vaguely Asian to me, is quite the opposite. :p

I've seen stranger things.

Anyways I'll be watching the post-electoral development in Burma keenly. The electoral defeat of Thein Sein and the USDP may impact Singapore-Burman relations badly in the future.

Because if it is, I'm probably going to say something mean and contrary just to contradict the majority.
