Hmm. Probably Aero panther-bodies. If I'm going to have only one model left, it damn well better be reliable, safe, comfortable, and spacious, and get decent mileage. Especially when I have a family, I don't want to get stuck with a Mustang, even if its more fun to drive; or any real classic Lincoln/Cadillac because of deplorable gas mileage/scarcity of parts.

PS: My family owns a 1993 Silverado, RWD, 4 speed auto, dark blue with silver two tone, 350 TBI V8, light blue velour interior, tape deck, long box. His name is Lou. Figured you'd want to know if you're going to save the Silverados.

Hey, I do like them older Chevies. Though I will say, the 90's Silverados are new looking enough that they blend in pretty well into modern traffic. Plus they don't seem to rust too easily. Just my experience, but I rarely ever see one with rust. So all in all, I wouldn't be too surprised if most non-car people think of the 90's Silverados as new, despite them having been replaced by the ones with rounder headlights in 1999.

Is the Chevrolet Volt 2016/Opel Ampera/Vauxhall Ampera worth it?

And if I go to a European country, say, Switzerland, would it be worth it buying Opel over, say, Volkswagen?

How has your taste in cars changed over the years? Has it constantly changed or has it pretty much stayed the same?

Well, I'm fairly young, but my taste in cars has changed, yes. Back in elementary school, I didn't care too much about cars, but I did think sports cars were the best cars made. I remember drawing these sorta cars in school. Made up the design in my head and thought it was good. Don't quite know how to describe it... I guess... 2 cups of Lamborghini Countach, 1 & 1/2 cup of 90's Corvette, 1/2 cup 70's Dodge Challenger, 1/4 cup Camaro, 1/4 cup 458, and... 2 tablespoons of 1949 Mercury Eight. And a dash of Soviet armored vehicle. I guess that's fairly similar to what it looked like... Anyway, shifted over to Ford pickup trucks in... 5th grade? Don't know why. Maybe it was because my friend's dad used to pick us up from this after school thing in his black 90's Ford F-150. Still didn't really care much about cars then, but I thought Ford trucks were nice. And then that changed in.. I guess late 7th grade or 8th grade.. shifted over to Chevrolets. And in about.... early 9th grade. That's really when I actually started caring about cars. And then that's sorta where I've just stayed since then.

The volt is not worth it, there are much better hybrids around. But, I would say that an opel is worth it versus a VW, especially after dieselgate. Even if you don't mind yourself, it has put a big damper on VW resale value.

I'm planning on moving to Switzerland and getting an Opel Insignia after I go to university or college. (preferably Oxford)

Well, they're pretty common around here. And nobody seems to actually use them for offroading. Unless you are an avid offroader, you'll probably have little need for a Jeep Wrangler with 33 inch tires. Cherokees seem to be pretty durable. Ones from the 80's and 90's at least. Very common.

Yeah, Volkswagen sorta screwed themselves over a little bit from that... they'll bounce back though. Maybe. I believe in them. Kind of. Their reputation ain't gonna be the same from now on, that's for sure.

This is the time for Opel to heroically swoop in and gain a few % market share.

That would be a pretty smart decision for them to make right now, seeing as their competition from Volkswagen is currently not as strong as it normally is.

I recall having a thing for big pick up trucks when I was 8, and now I'd never own anything bigger than an S Class or a Town Car. I used to liked the Jeep Wrangler TJ when I was kid, but not anymore. Though I always liked Mercedes since I was 12.

I'm also young, and my taste has always been more or less the same. I'm obsessed with British&American designs, and cannot stray from the glorious Western engineering. Everything about US and British auto companies and cars simply catches my eye at first sight, from the shiny Ford logo to the surprising speed of a Rolls-Royce Ghost, it is all wonderful. I have a hatred of German cars, although I like Japanese cars somewhat (Mainly since the Acuras my family buys are made in the South)

Supposedly there's a predecessor to the Mitsubishi Evo coming. We already know of the new Impreza (won Rally America and it's class in 24H of Nurburgring)

The new Focus RS is the only one that comes to mind right now. Considering its starting price, that's a dream that may actually be achievable too. :>

It's called "regularity race", it already exist. It requires to keep exactly a certain average speed, i.e., if the track is on streets with a 50 kms per hour limit, the average to keep can be set at 40 kms per hour.
