That's a bit ageist. I am, at 21, a much better driver than plenty of middle aged people I know.

Available engines include a 241 cid I6, a 304 cid V8, a regular gas 357 cid V8, a premium gas 357 V8, and a high output 357 V8.
This is what I have completed thus far, the side view of the Scepter S Sedan.

You're going for a classic look with modern commodities?

Not modern exactly. Patridam is a past tech nation, somewhere between 1950 and 1980, and the cars reflect that. The most sophisticated equipment on any of the cars will be mechanical fuel injection, airbags, antilock brakes, and traction control etc.Petrolheadia wrote:No, it's an old car. Looks like a 4th gen X-body.
As in FWD Omega or Skylark? This car is quite a bit bigger than that, and is RWD. Closer to a 77+ A platform if you're going to name GM cars.

Thought 4th gen was the 75-79 Nova etc. Then it looks like a 3rd gen, with bits of 4th gen. The proportions seem a bit too compressed for an A-body, at least for me.

Some of the illusions about proportions might come from the 15" rims (instead of the 14" ones on the 3rd gen X body). Also, in terms of proportions, its worth noting that a 78' (midsize) Malibu and a 78' (compact) Nova are about the same length (200 inches) and the Nova is wider the the Malibu. Downsizing was a mess.

One doesn't emerge from the womb capable of handling over 500hp.
As someone who was stuck with a sickly three speed automatic rabbit cabriolet as his first car, I don't know about that. I feel much safer driving automobiles that have "too much power" than I did in a car that struggled to maintain 30 mph in second gear up a hill and couldn't reach the speed limit on the highway. Good performing cars might be wasteful in terms of expense on a young person, but big luxury cars and SUVs that happen to be powerful aren't going to kill them - they are very docile until you really commit to putting your foot into it.

Putting your foot into it is something inexperienced drivers do a LOT of. Jerky accelerator usage becomes a threat to personal safety when the jerky accelerator is connected to a 500hp V8TT.
One of my friends has a 145hp Hyundai Elantra with TCS and ESP and riding with him can be pretty scary even then just because he hasn't learned how to smoothly accelerate and brake.

Seems that in my town, Audis are replacing Civics as the tasteful/light modder's car.
Around here, Audis might get aftermarket wheels and maybe blacked logos and windows, but that's it really.
Civics are still the darling of ricers, pretty much any cheap coupé is popular among modders, whether the coupé is FWD or RWD.

I don't see riced Civics. Modded Civics around me seem to be done around a plan.
The rice car is mostly the VW Golf Mk3, maybe some E36s and Mondeos.

I don't see people rice Mondeos, but it's always the convertible E36s that get riced round here.
