Yes, the Accord has become larger than the Chevrolet Silverado. Much room in it.

Yeah, the Honda line up has shifted in Size. The Fit is what the Civic used to be, and the Civic is what the Accord used to be; their cars are bigger.

I blew a tranny on my way to see friends for Christmas, then I had a tranny problem on the way back less than 200 miles from where I started…on a 500+ mile trip.

My poor v-dub has been sitting in a series of shops for the past few days. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a solid answer. :(

The FIAT 500 and Hyundai Elantra I've rented have been a blast, though.

Yep, it's getting pretty big.

What are generally the most commonly seen vehicles around where you live?

Well, here, for this specific part of this specific county in the great state of Tennessee, it's largely a family-orientated sorta city. And so, I'm going to say that the most common vehicles here are newer Japanese/European sedans/SUV's. American vehicles are fairly common here, though I notice that there seem to be more Japanese and European ones and the American cars tend to be a little bit older than their Japanese and European counterparts. Also a lot of Jeep Wranglers for some reason. Tons of them. They're everywhere and barely anyone that owns one of them actually uses them for offroading. Also a lot of Mercedes... And, of course, there are pickup trucks here. Though mainly newer ones. A lot of newer Japanese ones. Which are almost guaranteed to not actually be carrying or towing anything. And newer American ones as well. An unusually high amount of Ford Rangers for some reason... Anyway, probably about 90% of the time, if you see a truck actually carrying or towing anything, it will likely be an older compact Nissan or Toyota, or an older full size Chevrolet, Ford, or GMC. Rest of the time, it will likely be a newer American truck. Never a Japanese one. I don't think I've ever actually seen a newer Nissan Frontier or Honda Ridgeline actually towing anything. Dodge Rams also seem to be the American truck least likely to be used to carry or tow, in my experience.

It's a wash of typical stuff you'd find. You got your typical blend of Camrys and crossovers, some luxury cars, especially in home home, since I live in the richest county in PA. Around college it's about the same, but with more pick up trucks and out of state plates since a lot New Jersey kids seem to go to Susquehanna.

I vastly prefer american cars, and I find the 200 very attractively styled, but a friend of mine has had to deal with one for about a month's driving in total (it is a loaner car at a dealership where she bought a new Cherokee, which has been in the shop a month out of the year she's had it). And she hated it, mostly due to the 9 speed trans from ZF, as well as some things in the interior seriously lacking in quality/ergonomic design.

The accord sedan is classified as Full Size in the US of A (coupe is still midsize).

I live In Staten Island. $1,000,000 homes, $50,000 cars. I see a lot of ford&chevy SUVs and crossovers. Around my neighborhood, a Ford Explorer or Chevy Equinox is easy to find. There are also 1 or 2 bentleys and a few chryslers. Like a third of cars are Japanese though, and occasionally, you can find a Volkswagen Passat.

In case of my town it is mostly 5-20 year old German, Japanese, French or Italian (mostly older models) cars. Virtually all of the cars aren't bigger than midsize. And practically all new cars are Opels, Renaults or Fords. (the first two are understandable, since the only dealerships in my town are a Renault one and an Opel one.) In the town center you can also see cars like the Bentley Comtinental, BMW X5 or Mercedes S500 (all brand new). And cargo vehicles seem to be in one of 2 groups:
- New cars (Mercedes Vito, VW Transporter, Peugeot Boxer),
- 15-20 year old cars (Mercedes Sprinter, Peugeot Boxer, Lublin).
There is also quite a disproportionate number of Saabs 9-3.

Well, seeing as New Zealand is basically a dumping ground for anything and everything from Japan, we get a ridiculous variety of cars on the road.

However, here are a few I could narrow down:
Toyota Hiace
Toyota Hilux
Ford Ranger
Ford Falcon
Holden Commodore
Suzuki Swift
BMW 3 Series
Mazda 3
Mazda 6
Nissan Tiida
Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan Skyline
Honda Jazz

IDK there's probably a lot more.

Most common car around here is probably either the Honda Accord or the Ford Taurus.

I was wondering, how do the NS car enthusiasts feel about cars with:

a) electric engine (battery)
b) electric engine (hybrid)
c) electric engine (H-O cell)
d) Diesel engine (methane)
e) Otto engine (liquid propane)

Especially in these time of persistent smog in the Po Valley, those options are often discussed. Myself, I have to drive often to get to work, and I have to use an Otto engine (petrol) - chose it because it's the cheapest option.

I think hydrogen is the way forward, once it can be made relatively inexpensive. Right now it's either Diesel or some sort of hybrid that's your best alternative to the Petrol/Gas engine.

A 2007 car isn't exactly going to be very different in options available than the two 2015 cars we've already done.

Change of plans. Doing 2001. No magnesium stuff except for rims, gearboxes have maximum 6 speeds and there is no hydraulic valvetrain.
