Yeah, I heard, but my friend didn't have any of those at all. Man, when I took the road test, I had to parallel park, do the hill test, do the three-point turn, and do reverse parking. :p

I was lucky, though, when I was doing parallel parking. I hit the curb four times, but the evaluator didn't mark me down. :p

The towing capacity is a joke about how I post as the USS Monitor, a Civil War ironclad which weighed around 1000 tons. I would actually prefer a smaller vehicle that would be easier to maneuver on narrow streets and easier to park. New England has a lot of awkward narrow streets.

Just a question: What is the difference between driving a standard transmission car and driving a tiptronic? Does the latter consume more oil?

I'm quite sure it does consume a bit more than a manual transmission, but defenietly less than a full auto.

Manual transmission is theoretically best. If the driver changes gears at the optimal time and has the revs right, the clutch is more efficient than the torque converter used in autos.

But that's a big if. Drivers aren't all good. Many of them would get better fuel efficiency leaving the gear decision to the car's computer.

(Mind you, I'm a new driver myself lol)

Oooh finally a thread I can get behind!

I'm planning to buy a classic car when I move back to Europe (1-2 years). But as I'm waiting, all the cars I want are creeping up and out of my (imaginary) budget of around €20-25k, seems even Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV's are doing their best to keep me out now :(

Why? Cars are expensive and inefficient. And no, I would not prefer to ride the back of someone else as standard transportation.

I fucking love cars. Some people look at them through an utilitarian lens, I just can't do that.

My favorite cars are old British jaguars, German sports cars, such as the Audi R8. I can't just name a favorite car, since I adore so many cars from so many different time frames and countries.

4 problems with my new 2015 forrester.

1. The cvt, sucks
2. The rear view camera is not refined enough, it can get washed out to where you don't see everything you need to.
3. The bluetooth stinks, 2 generations behind ford.
4. The brake pedal is too soft, the car stops fine, I juse hate the brake feel.

That said, I would buy again. Perfect car for us to downsize too from a minivan.

Also supposedly 2 and 3 have been fixed on the 2016's.

You seem entirely incapable of understanding people having different needs or tastes. Nor do you actually seem into cars, just hating on the cars other people like. You're a bummer of a car fan, dude.

Crossovers meet CAFE regulations easier than BOF/trucklike SUV's. And TBH, as far as offroading goes, Crossovers (at least, with the ones I've had experience with i.e. the Subaru Forester and the original, the AMC Eagle) are very capable in the actual situations they might be placed in. Sure, they can't rock climb like a Wrangler can, but they can handle dirt roads, muddy hills, and deep snow.

TBH I think that station wagons need a comeback. Minivans are too damn ugly/boring, SUV's are too clunky and inefficient, and crossovers are just 4WD sedans with tall bodies. Of course, I also want the personal luxury coupe to come back into style, but I don't see that happening in the near future either.
