Yes, I am and no I do not. I do hate some christians, but it isn't because they are christian, it is because they are annoying fuckwads.

:eyebrow: *nods* Right. And what prompts this? The defense of their faith, perhaps? Or is it your own arrogance in believing they are all stupid and blind to follow a "fictional" religion? Just saying...

To me it'd be the latter. Damn those zealots!

Even if you don't take it as fact, it's one of the best reads I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

I only like the begining and the end. The middle bores me.

Which parts do you consider the beginning, middle, and end?

Beginning: Front cover.
End: Back cover.
Middle: Everything else.

Ah, the pages with no print on them?

Yes... Those are the most epic of all... It leaves the ending and beginning entirely to the reader's imagination...

HAVE YOU READ ANYTHING HE HAS SAID?!

I'm sure she has, she just wanted me to restate it.

Indeed I have and nowhere have you presented a hatred of Christians. Hence why I asked.

One thing is to dislike some of the actions some Christians take. Non general, which is what Dyakovo has been doing. Another is to assume that because someone is an atheist he/she will automatically hate Christians. Generalizing, which is very bad, something I have not seen in Dyakovo's posts.

Confused...

No, wait. You're saying that the Christians might be technically correct in their belief that God was a god and that Jesus was his son, but the bible itself does not say what the real story is?

Or the lessons are correct, but the story isn't?

Or something?

Get over it, the bible is a work of fiction (at least in part). For example: the flood didn't happen (at least not as presented), there is not enough water in the world. As to why not make it law, simple, not everyone is a christian. I don't give a fuck what your magical sky faerie has to say about anything, nor should I have to care he's your magical sky faerie, not mine. Generally, it's because religion is pushed upon people rather unwillingly, the Catholic church controls a country, and might as well control half the world, and by and large christians who are vocal are just plain silly.

That's another reason. Seriously. I want any Christian to actually find abortion mentioned in the Bible. It doesn't exist. So I don't see why they try to use the Bible against abortion.

They usually use the whole "it's murder" or "you're destroyin' a life" bologna. Some won't even abort retarded babies or babies with abnormalities. They're in fact condemning their children to a life of misery. Seriously what is quality of life in those cases?

Well that's slightly different. I'm thinking more along the lines of rape victims. A few years ago there was a Christian girl who was raped yet refused to get an abortion because of her Christian views. Now if her parents had instead of taken her to church at a young age and taught her different viewpoints of different religions/non religious then she would at least have considered it. My friend even said "all morals have exceptions" to that.

I'm sure I provoke it on occasion, but mostly I was thinking of the fundies who want to make their beliefs law. Also, I don't think people are stupid for being religious, nor does the bible being a fictional account mean that christianity is not correct.

Why? It is our Holy Book. And if the Bible is false, then that would mean Christianity is false. And why not make it law? Christianity merits a few benefits...

And no, christianity doesn't merit any special benefits, it is simply one religion out of many.

"Magical sky faerie" I like it. :)

*laughs* But there's so much geological evidence supporting the flood!

No, there isn't. There isn't a single bit of geological evidence supporting the flood.

How are fossils formed?

In general?
Minerals fill the cellular spaces and crystallize. The shape of the original plant or animal is preserved as rock. Sometimes the original material is dissolved away leaving the form and structure but none of the organic material remains.

Aren't there like tons of ways for fossils to be formed like with tree sap and lava...not just water.

Now, how much time exactly does this take?
