I beg to differ.
There is a way to end religion, world hunger, poverty and wars at the same time.
These devices are called thermonuclear warheads (or nukes). If sufficient numbers of these were to be detonated with inter meshing blast throughout the world, there is a 90% chance of all of the world's problems being solved.
Its still undesirable though.
Fine...
Short of wiping out all of humanity it is not possible to wipe out religion.
I feel I have to point out - in the event of nuclear extermination of the whole human species... cockroaches may well survive, and we don't know much about their religious leanings.
It's entirely possible that religion could survive the destruction of humans.
contrary to common belief, cockroaches cannot survive the nuclear blast, but can survive the radioactive fallout due to having significantly less cells. In any case, the detonation of sufficient nuclear weapons should destroy enough of the biosphere that all life will be extinguished eventually. (ash will be hurled to the upper atmosphere, thus blocking sun light, which kills all the plants and therefore the rest of the animals, who would not have anything to eat.)

Wiping out all religion is both not possible and not desirable.
