There was an atheist in my class, and he said he hated all religions. Me (christian), my friends (jewish, hindu, and another chrisitian) beat the shit out of him. We got detentions, but he totally deserved it.

No srsly, I hate people. Not Christians, but those like the OP who have nothing better to do that to jerk to a crucifix. Or those atheists who quite frankly are insane enough to believe the God Delusion.

Because you keep posting in it.

Also have you read all 1000+ posts?

You would notice that there has been some good discussion that has gone on a slight tangent from the OP.

This is what threads on NSG should be like, regardless of the OP.
You know you've made it on NSG when you have a whole thread created around what you said.

The same can be said for some Atheists who repeat the same old shit that you hear from many atheists then when you start questioning them they either can't or have no real reasons to back up their statements.

I don't know if you can always separate the two. *shrugs*

I've met enough people who talk about what assholes they would be, if they hadn't found religion, to suspect that (at least) SOME people NEED religion.

The first post was so wrong that - if you started from post two, and typed "The first post was WELL wrong", and you added another post with an extra 'well', and then a third post with one more extra 'well' in it... after 44 pages, you'd have enough extra 'wells' added to understand just how totally well wrong the first post was.

Of course. I consider atheism as much a matter of faith as belief in deity. There is no substantive proof that deity exists and there is no proof that deity does not exist. Both sides become dogmatic as Hell and both sides annoy the Hell out of me. I've come down on the atheist side (barely) because I've heard slightly more rational discussion supporting disbelief than I've heard supporting belief in deity, but I'm open to all sides of the discussion. But, just as belief in deity does not guarantee a spiritual life, disbelief in deity does not negate a spiritual life: just as dogmatic belief in a particular religion almost guarantees stunted spiritual growth.

I don't hate all Christians. Just the ones that ask broadly-worded, poorly-conceived, generalizing questions.

And hate is far too valuable and toxic to waste on just being annoyed, so I don't really hate them, either.

Hello John Mclane
Let's play a little game
I'm gonna put a sign on you, that says "I Hate Niggers"
Then I'm gonna release you in Harlem
Surely the enlightened peaceful citizens of that neighborhood will respect your opinion of them.
(it's a Die Hard 3 reference that fit, outcome; Samuel Jackson had to save Bruce Willis from a mob of angry black people, by claiming insanity)

Point being, you don't say deliberately inflammatory things in front of the group it targets and legitimately expect Zero repercussions.
