As a person who professes no religious belief and as someone who is avidly secular this is in my view an over stepping of this teachers authority's. Government and by extension its facilities which include school are not in the business of supporting a religious conviction nor actively professing that there is not a god(s). It should be a neutral observe allowing individuals to determine what they believe in regards to religion. The teacher should be repramended appropriately given school/state policy on the matter. Of course however I'm just going off what I've been able to gather and my opinion could change if given new compelling evidence.

America is worse than a fair deal of other Christian nations when it comes down to discrimination of other religions, especially Islam. Most other nations don't have a such a large amount of Christian fundies.

It's related to the story in that it discusses promotion of religious beliefs in school. Which is what the thread is about, even though the incident in the Op didn't occur.

Spiritual warfare was to which what I was referring.

Yeah, if the story were true, the teacher would be punished heavily, I think. :p

So now atheists aren't allowed to even speak their opinions, yet Christians are allowed to go door-to-door pressuring people to join their churches?

Regardless of a persons own spiritual belief's or lack thereof, it has no place in the classroom. Religions should be given equal time and attention in a class specifically dedicated to teaching about said religions, or not at all.

Good and evil exist, obviously, but I fail to see what spiritual warfare has to do with that. That's conspiracy bullshit evangelicals made up to defend their entitled feelings about being oppressed.
