150 years is a long time. He may have changed. I changed in about 1% of that. My hope holds strong.

Some people are more open to change than others. I think a lot of 19th century people would have come around to more modern ideas about race, gender, and sexual orientation if they were still alive to hear modern arguments and see how the world has changed -- but other people are very set in their ways, and would just get angry and disgusted with the changes.
