Bucks lack star player, and Detroit seems to have grit, so I figure they'd do well.

Benches are supposed to be terrible, as in the case of most NBA teams.
Detroit just needs to get out of their slump against the lower division teams.
But benches play a key role when the starters are resting. I suppose when Brandon Jennings or Jodie Meeks returns is when the bench can do better.

Porzingis has the edge in size, especially considering players get taller, in average, as years elapse in the NBA.
Therefore, I give my upper hand to Porzingis.
#1: I love how I said it didn't matter, and you proceeded to argue the point anyway.
#2: What? I'm pretty sure everyone in the NBA is done growing taller.

#1: It's an advantage when you are doing tip-ins or dunking, which means getting points, which can potentially win games.
#2: Average player height is increasing. I should have specified there.

#1: You're completely missing the point. They both got what appear to be potential stars, so there's no use second guessing the picks. They both should be happy and IT DOESN'T MATTER MUCH WHICH IS ACTUALLY BETTER.
#2: It can't continue at that rate for very long. Humans only get so tall.

#1: Yeah, I'm just saying Porzingis appears to be the better one, just by looking at this season.
#2: Yes, but, all in all, being tall is better than being short.

#2 So Curry is clearly far inferior to most of the league at only 6'3" yes?

No. Not an exception. As a general rule, short players, (Short used in a relative manner here, since they're all tall from my perspective) are better at jump shots than taller ones. Just like any sport, diversity in body types is important.

And they tend to have more speed than taller players, right?

Scary thing is, he's 27. Still has a lot of basketball left in him, barring injury.
Also, fun fact, Stephen is his middle name. His first name is Wardell. Named after his ex-NBA dad, who just goes by Dell.
