If nothing bad happens, who cares? I carry a handgun on me, it's never randomly gone off.

Congratulations.

I'm sorry, but you don't have any idea what you're talking about. Even if somehow a bullet fell out of the back of a gun (???) it wouldn't just hit the floor and go off.

Yes I just realized that. I withdraw the comments about Walmart since I haven't been to a USA Walmart, or a Canadian Walmart, for that matter. I shop in Costco.

I don't know if Costco sells black powder or not. Never checked.

What about non-modern guns with home made bullets? How exactly do you prevent those from polluting the modern gun world?

They're really rare enough it's basically a nonissue.

I'm not willing to entertain that possibility. And black powder ingested is still a harmful substance, if the primer falls out.

Moreover, slinging the thing across your shoulder makes it a target for small children to grab and play with, perhaps as you sit down for a drink. This risk in my opinion is too great to be tolerated.

So no statistics on spontaneous discharge?

Seems to me you're scared of a possibility that is borderline imaginary.

And incidentally, there is generally no law against carrying around explosive substances, which is why you can buy black powder in Wal-mart. For detonating stumps, generally. Very useful for that purpose, black powder.

Walmart also used to sell black powder rifles, pyrodex pellets, sabot bullets, percussion caps, etc.

Spoken for truth.

Yet another shining example of an uneducated foreign individual attempting to dictate gun policy in the US.

Sure makes the anti gun side looks absolutely amazing though. Not they needed any additional help though to start with though....

Now the stock might fall off, the bullet fall out, and then someone accidentally eat the bullet so we need to ban guns in public?

As a law abiding gun owner the only time I'm not comfortable with black guys walking down the street with a gun is A) when they're showing off their gun, that's stupid, and any sensible CCP Holder would keep their gun concealed, and B) When they fit the gangsta culture, so they're walking down the street with pants sagging, swaggering like they're hot shit, and got tons of fake gold on them, bandanas, you know, stuff that just screams "i'm a gangsta man, look at my piece, I'll f*kin' use it on you.

No you haven't seen that.

Maybe not. But I maintain that guns are dangerous in the hands of people who don't know what they are, and are still dangerous in the hands of those who do know what they are. Even the body of the gun itself is akin to a baseball bat and can inflict injuries without firing. Why are baseball bats not prohibited in baseball diamonds? They are used to play baseball. Unless there is a legitimate cause for carrying guns in the same way, such as being in a shooting facility, I see no reason why it should be permitted.
