The majority announce IM has an unfounded basis on the issue among others, and is choosing the conservative choice to base her argument upon untrustworthy sources. IM should learn to review sources, and this issue is futile due to the fact that there are many sources saying otherwise her argument. Just give up, IM, because your sources and arguing make you look like a horrid NSer and a terrible debater.

If you want to get in a ring with someone and knock each other senseless, go ahead, just don't expect me to watch or get involved. Nearly every sport has some risk of injury. People also die in outdoor activities like rock climbing, white water rafting, surfing, and spelunking. Should we ban those too? Or what about selfies? More people die taking selfies each year than are claimed in shark attacks.

I knew this was an Infected Mushroom thread just from looking at it on the Latest Forum Topics. Sad considering how short my time on Nationstates has been.

Also, bad use of gladiators as an example. Most of them had no choice; Boxers do it willingly.

Just like banning boxing.

I think you're being a bit anti-freedom. Let the boxers box. There's a reason we didn't ban cars because we got into accidents or baseball because it hit people in the face. I formally accuse IM for not founding the evidence on true facts, and being unconstitutional. This issue is idiotic. Manny Pacquiao and <insert national leader> would stand with me, and they fight with people. Let the boxers box. If they die, it's their fault. It's not your job to handle the lives of human beings. If you really want boxing to go away, then move to Greenland. Erase your memory of boxing. But mark my words: nobody, and I mean NOBODY, will agree with you. Stand with an actual, fixable and likeable issue next time.

There's only two realities; either you cooperate with the world or the world cooperates with you. In this case, you have to cooperate with the world.

The simple reality is that you've been 'but but other factors' over and over again without actually being able to come up with any such relevant factors, even when asked.

Your basis for calling for a ban is that you don't like that people are boxing.

They're not really putting words in your mouth any more than

A-'I don't eat any animal products'
B-'Oh, so you're vegan'
A-'Now don't put words in my mouth'

A-'I'm only sexually attracted to people of the same sex'
B-'So you're homosexual'
A-'Don't put words in my mouth'

No, but with the logic that you are using, you could. By the definition that you gave, a blood sport is a sport where people die, get injured, or bleed and should therefore be banned. Using that logic, I created these equally absurd propositions as the one that you are making.

In my opinion, you just want to ban boxing because you don't like it and are using the injury argument to try to demonize a legitimate sport to ban it so you don't have to see it. I don't like American Football, but millions of people love it. I don't like basketball, baseball, or skateboarding either. I also hate boxing and wrestling. But you know what? I do the mature thing. I just don't watch it, but I don't have any problem with other people enjoying it. My advice to you is, grow up. The world is full of things we aren't going to like and you have to live with it.

Slippery slope there.

But yeah, let's not ban boxing. Crime rate in the Philippines is known to drop when Pacquiao beats the shit out of his opponents.
