that's a normative judgement and a claim you are welcome to press or discuss in a separate thread

maybe ping-pong should or shouldn't banned, don't really see the connection to boxing

That isn't my problem, it's quite obvious why everyone is posting all of these comparisons.

The connection is that your argument as to why boxing should be banned also applies here, pointless opinions ignored.

You believe that the resultant injuries of boxing override the application of consent?
Are you doing a comparison of gain/loss or positive/negative effects to come to this conclusion?

In case you missed it.

countless people have made countless similar comparisons in this thread ans he still does not get it. it is at this point that I would suggest we stop casting our pearls before swine, as it were, and let this thread die in peace. boxing is not actually going to be banned anytime soon. this foolishness has gone on for so long that I'm having a hard time believing that that IM actually believes it himself.

Can you list all of your reasons for wanting to ban boxing? It would be cool to see it all in one post. The OP doesn't really cut it honestly, unless those are all of your arguments.

From what I gather the points are
It causes harm
It involves fighting
People profit from it
Consent is irrelevant.

Indeed - boxing kills so few people, if we applied IM's stated principles, we'd have to ban...

Yes yes, you've said that, but you want to examine boxing in a vacuum and discount all the positive things that boxing does do.

In short, you hate boxing, so therefore its should be banned.

Like very time.

No we wouldn't. Because principles don't apply in a vacuum.

However, your argument DOES apply outside of a vacuum, because the world isnt a vacuum. There is connections, and the connection is is that your argument applies to many things, and would have to be utilized the same when it wholly applies to other things.

that doesn't mean you can just unconditionally attach the same conclusion to every other context at the slightest hint of there being slightly overlapping factors; that's making leaps of logic

No; I've never made the representation that I ban things simply because I personally don't like them. This has been an irresponsible misrepresentation by the other side throughout.

I dont, I make connections where it applies to your three provided points. It causes injuries, people profit from it, and it causes death. The claim of it being evil isnt a point, as thats a heavy opinion.

All of your arguments about banning things are because you don't like them. For dogs, suits or boxing you have yet to give a good logical reason why any of these things should be banned.
