I only vaguely remember the Taekwondo lessons I got in middle school.
I probably won't. Makes suicide too easy. If, God forbid, I ever go down that road again, I don't want it to be easy to make that mistake. I want it to be as hard as possible. As for self-defense, I keep at least one knife on me at all times (usually a multitool). Mechanical pencils with metal tips are also good, as are metal compasses. Pepper spray is shit, I've taken sprays directly to the eyes with no ill effect. I am interested in owning a stun gun, though.

Then carry something like an umbrella or mace, because seriously, something like martial arts isn't going to cut it against a guy with a knife, especially for a girl. It would not be advisable to stand and fight.
I only ever carry my umbrella when its going to rain, simply because it's awkward as hell to carry around, especially given all the stuff I normally carry around on a daily basis. I wouldn't carry mace for the same reason I distrust pepper spray. Personally, I would advise keeping your keys on you, and using them as a makeshift weapon if need be. Another thing I always carry on me is a towel. It can be very effective if you're quick thinking and good at improvising weapons.
Then go with easily improvised weapons with legitimate non-weapon uses. Metal pens and pencils. A towel. Your keys. Etc.

I want to be a university teacher or a game designer.
