I didn't see another thread on this subject, so I figured I'd claim the honor of sounding ye olde forums death knell.

I, for one, am rather glad. NS will be fully reunited, and Jolt's crappy server and horrific search time restrictions will be gone forever.

That and I gather that Jolt was/is run by total jackasses anyway.

Actually there was an earlier thread, but since it was posted by The Artist Formerly Known as Hairless Kittens, it was quickly wiped out.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Well, it's a bit like seeing your alcoholic, abusive father dying. Sure, if he wasn't ignoring you he was actively beating you up, sure he came home late stinking of the alcohol he'd bought in place of your dinner, sure he was a nasty, foul-smelling, unemployed welfare abuser but...

Were the old forum archives backed up?

I remember writing a backup script for one of the mods (Erastide I think?) but I don't know if the stuff is saved anywhere. Some of the epic RP threads would be a pity to lose forever...

Eh. Most (out of barely a handful) posters there either are also using the new forums or simply hate the mods here, like you probably are already aware of. I don't think there will be a "flood" of new posters. Maybe a trickle.

I don't have the same emotions. I started the game in the pre-Jolt days.

Jolt can pucker up and kiss my fat, hairy arse every day this week and twice on Sundays. Three times if the Saints beat the Colts.

Indeed. I always considered the Jolt forums a step down. The old ones (and this new one) felt much nicer.
