All that remains is to show that biological systems replicate in such a way as to satisfy the minimal criteria required for evolution to apply to them, something which has already been adequately shown time and again. At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

I must confess, the snake incident, I cried and bawled. It was scary to me. My husband left work to help, because the critter was acting like a rattle snake and those are dangerous. It turned out to be a garden snake, which are harmless, but gods, I was terrified.

Are you in the Southwest?
Cats are supposed to be a natural enemy of the scorpion. You are failing as a cat.

It's been an adjustment, living in a semi rural setting after living in cities all my life. I was given a crash course on animals to watch out for when I moved here: deer at night when I'm driving, brown recluse spiders because their bite causes necrosis, black widows because their bite makes you very sick, tarantulas because of their painful bite, copperheads because of their venom, rattles for the same reason, feral pigs and hogs, bears, cougars and panthers, scorpions... I feel like Steve Irwin.
