Omg, I'm sorry, but George H.W. Bush's ceremonial first pitch was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen.

Chase Utley suspended for Games 3 and 4 for his slide into Ruben Tejada.
I'm completely okay with this, in fact, if anything it's still an injustice to the Mets. He purposefully passed by the bag and slid at Tejada. It should have been called interference, it should have been a double play, and the Dodgers should not have had the chance to score those runs. Just because it wasn't called, doesn't mean he shouldn't be disciplined, and I believe the suspension is completely justified.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is a much lighter punishment, because Tejada basically could miss an entire postseason, whereas, Utley may not.

Right! I agree with you both. I still can't believe that they called Utley safe after he didn't touch the base. And what happened to the neighborhood play? Wouldn't it still apply, as Tejada was going for a double play? It really is significant, because not only did that run go on to score, but there was a five-run rally with two outs, which shouldn't have happened.

I'm a little bit pissed, because I got put on a later shift for work today, and so I won't be able to watch the Cubs game. My shift is 4pm-10pm, and I usually only have to work until 8:00. I will definitely be wearing my pinky ring, though, because Arrieta's pitching.

Key game tonight. Let's see if Arrieta is as invincible as everyone seems to think he is. Fingers crossed that his mortality is on display tonight.

Also, the Cards are finally starting Tommy Pham. It's about time.

He hit a good homer last time at Busch... but this is Wrigley time. 8)

Both Holliday and Grichuk are still slowed by injuries, so I don't understand why Pham hasn't started every game in this series. I think he's got the potential to become one of the Cards' best hitters.

There is no disincentive to keep runners from deliberately targeting defenders and putting them out of the postseason (and potentially out of their careers). This happened twice to the Pirates very near the end of the season, and MLB shrugged with indifference.

I hate these thugs, and wish some local DA would charge them with aggravated assault.

Someone can finally text Jake Arrieta without getting a K response every time? Who was it?

Edit: Starlin Castro: I got your back Arrieta! (homers)
Addison Russel: Here's something else, a triple!
J Arrieta: thx
