On a personal note, I have no problem whatsoever with decent dress codes being enforced in a school. It's the reason why it's being done in this case that is the problem.

Yeah, what's missing is the posts pointing to more credible sources pointing out that this is just a single principal (or an official of equivalent authority) of a school in rural Bavarian bumfuckistan suggesting that female students should refrain from dressing in more revealing clothes. There is no actual ban being put in place, not in rural bumfuckistan nor in Germany as a whole.

It's being blown out of proportion and outright lied about in order to kick up a populist shitstorm fueled by the boundless, aimless, witless rage of uninformed people who don't even bother to look up facts.

Banning people from wearing one type of clothing to avoid offending a particular group isn't tolerance. Its allowing one group's culture to be imposed on everyone else. It is the very opposite of tolerance.

I went to a school with a school with a strict uniform code. I got fired from a major company because I could not meet the strict uniform standards of the company. I'm sure girls could adjust and wear a skirt which is slightly longer.
