It can be overwhelming to realize you don't understand everything, so needing to find something you believe in to explain some things makes sense to me. But if you do that all the time with everything, you'll never learn anything new.

Oh, I agree. What I mean is that it is ok to close off to reality once in awhile because the world around us is both magnificent and overwhelming. What we mustn't do, IMO, is deny the experience and learn.
