I'm 6'4", but my dad was 6'2" and my mom's about 5'4". So growing up, whenever we would move, my dad would always spend the first three days raising the light fixtures and modifying the fans for himself, and later for both myself and my brother (he topped out at just shy of 6'3", but it says 6'3" on his driver's license).

High-school got to be a pain, since the desks were really small and low, but during science class I'd often just sit on a regular chair at one of those high table with the black surface, and it fit real well. The teachers only let me do that so long as I kept getting 5s on the AP exams, though. Stupid contractual agreements....

Anyways, in college I had to request the dorm with the extra-long twin beds, as it turned out that I wouldn't fit on a regular twin-size. And buying jeans is difficult without heading to the Big-&-Tall sections of a store, since I can't find a decent 34-36 length pair of pants in my waist size.

Planes, trains, buses: No. Unless it's the exit row. Which really annoys me when the exit row has a twelve year old in it who obviously can't lift the door.

Heck, my dad and I went to look at the new Chevy Camaro for funsies, and we found that we couldn't even fit in the damn thing with the driver's seat so far back that it was touching the rear seat. So, I'm never driving a Camaro until they fix that design flaw.

umm... I think you must have done the math wrong there, avg. American male should be about 5'9", making you 2.5" shorter than average, or about 6 cm.

Yeah, the average American male is slightly under 5'9" (about 5'8.6"), so you're correct.

Maybe your friends watch too many sports. The height bump they give professional athletes is appalling. I interviewed a hockey player who was listed at 5'11" and we were directly eye-to-eye.
