Do women have the right to expose their chests?

Postby Yorkvale » Sun Aug 23, 2015 10:40 am

GoTopLess and associated feminists seem to think so

http://gotopless.org/

GoTopLess is essentially a movement for "gender equality" that claims women should have the right to go topless just as men are.

What do you guys think about this movement?

The problem behind this imho are the boobies! And while they are not really genitalia they are however protected under the law as genitalia. If you forcefully grav a woman's arm it is assault, but if you grab their boobs it is sexual assault.

Not only are they legally sexual organs, but many neurologists deem them to be actual sexual organs as well
https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/th ... ns-breasts

I'm of gender belief that sexual organs shouldn't be left open for the world to see in public.

Men do not have anything close to to the boob in terms of sexual stimulation and s9cietal expectation so no, it's not #PATRIARCHY or inequality or oppression.

So If I were the one man supreme court, I'd probably strike it down. I however, Love BOOBIES So I don't mind the movement much hehe and maybe joining some topless protesters would be..interesting! But of course, most people who do this sort of thing are Walmart moms and well.....not too sexy.

What say you NSG?

Radical feminist nonsense, reasonable demands based on gender equality, freedom of expression or sinful and disgusting?

This.

That and going topless all the time would be kinda impractical in some places.

Also didn't we have a thread on this 2 months ago or something

Hmm, maybe time for government regulation then. No women over thirty or lower than a 5 on the federal hotness scale.

In places where it's acceptable for men to be topless, sure, why not? People usually approach this from the viewpoint that breasts are somehow taboo.

They're taboo because we say they are. That's a circular argument.

What's the feminist opinion on breast feeding in public? I've never really been against it and would say it goes with topless in public.

To the extent that male toplessness is socially acceptable, I don't really have a problem with female toplessness.

Well, shit, I hadn't taken into account that there are places where people tend to go topless. I guess beaches, public pools and areas like that would be okay. For some reason I've all but forgotten about areas like that and was thinking everyday life. Yay me.

That aside, everywhere other than areas where it's considered normal I'll admit it's a case of "ewww, newd peeps" for me.

Doesn't really make sense if the elements aren't a problem, and it is warm.

It's clearly a feminist plot to minimize the importance of bare male chests.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

Point taken. I know I don't really have a logical reason to go on here, but I'm too much of a fucking prude to want to see topless people in public in general.

If breasts are legally considered to be genitalia, should being nude be legal as well?

Absolutely disgusting and immodest, we should if anything be increasing restrictions for women to cover up more. First on the agenda should ofcourse be banning the perversion of the Bikini.

Everyday life? Well, obviously not. I don't take my shirt off at work, or when I go shopping. Why should Women be able to behave any differently? In the same manner, however, where it is acceptable for men to take off their shirts, women should also be able to go topless.

All the edgy folks ignoring the issue to take time to do some body shaming aside.

Yes, if the law allows a man to walk down the street topless, women should be allowed to as well.

I'm a grown man, "boobies" aren't my motivation... I live in a place that gets 3 months a year in triple digit heat, so you get to see my chest, and its kind of bullshit that I can just jerk my shirt off and no one bats an eye, but my wife can't.

I've never been a fan of the idea that I'm so fragile or lacking in self control or that my sensibilities are so delicate that there has to be a special set of rules for one gender to protect me from their wiles. I'm not one to go without a shirt even when swimming and yeah, there aren't a lot of people I'd like to see sans clothing, but there are a lot of things I don't like, I don't think that should dictate how they present themselves. My judgement means fuckall to how others want to adorn or not adorn themselves.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Breasts are legally genitalia because the law is wrong. It can however be changed.

If we'd grown up around bare female chests, so much so that it became normalised, perhaps we wouldn't get so much of the "hur hur, boobies" mentality.

You don't see african tribes making a great fuss about the amount of breast on display. Oh look, another pair of breasts, for the billionth time in my life..

I don't care at all about nudity, especially when there is a double-standard.
