Also, you claim that the Big Ten is a weak conference yet you overlook that the PAC-12 conference championship was between a 10-2 Stanford team and an 8-4 USC team.

So, if anything, the PAC-12 is the weaker conference. Like Luminesa said, they can barely beat anyone outside their conference. At least Big Ten teams show a fight chance.

One of Stanford's losses, and three of USC's were to other Pac-12 teams, and only one loss each to outside teams, one of those was Notre Dame. And they regularly beat teams from outside the conference. Luminesa is huffing glue! :P

But do the teams they beat matter? That is the question.

Yeah, they matter - same as anyone else, I suppose. I'm just pointing out that the Pac-12 conference records should take into account that they're beating each other up. :)

The only reason id agree that the Pac-12 is weaker is because they lost to MSU/North Western. I'd really say its a toss up as to which is the weakest conference this year between the two. Ideally It'd be better having 2 big12 teams, or maybe ND in the playoff this year than having any B1G team or Pac-12 team in at all.

Well, yeah, they always do that. But let's say Stanford played Florida Saturday. Or Oregon played Alabama. Or Cal played LSU. Who would you go for in those matchups?

Because LSU and Bama would both win. Les Miles doesn't lose to teams outside the SEC.

Except flipping Clemson in the Chik-fil-A Bowl.

LSU is a toss up it just depends what LSU team shows up, Bama vs Oregon is a given. Oregon chokes in big games regardless of whom they're playing.

clemson has a losing record vs kentucky in football

And Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl. :p

Meanwhile, Nick Saban doesn't lose to teams outside the SEC unless it's in the Sugar Bowl.

Oregon didn't seem to choke against Michigan State last year (iirc they were down by a lot at one point). Nor did the seem to against Florida State. Same with this year.

In fact, I don't think I've ever known Oregon to choke in big games. What example is there? Last year's NCG? Hell, even in 2010 when they played a Cam Newton led Auburn for the national championship, they lost on a last-second field goal.

I wasnt serious about the oregon bit however I did say FSU shouldnt have been in the CFP last season, but as i said before "defending champs" idiocy got them in there and then they got embarassed.

He won Fan Favorite. So he has that going for him.

Plus he's going to be a sailor. I'd take that over some piece of hardware any day imo.

True. Still...

Keenan: "I ran for 7 TDs in a game, more than Derrick Henry or Cam Newton or any of these nOObs will ever do, I set a Division I record for most rushing TDs, and I'm going to go be a sailor and serve our country. The least you guys can do is give me a Heisman and show me you care!" :lol2:

Indeed. Seriously, who does all the voting for this, anyway? I hate being cynical about sports, but really, now, I see the Heisman winners and I usually just see someone who's gonna be an NFL bust. I think the hype train gets to them, what, with all the talk ESPN does about them. So I dunno if Derrick Henry is actually gonna do anything when he gets to the NFL. I just hope NO don't draft him.

Maybe it's better, then, that Honey Badger didn't get the Heisman. He's doing great now, all that extra attention probably would have had some seriously adverse effects on him, considering he was fighting his drug addiction at the time, too, I think. Hard to do that when you've got sportscasters all saying you're the greatest.

Leonard Fournette needs to be focusing on improving for next year, so he can do great things there. In the meantime, Keenan Reynolds is gonna be a sailor, a hero, and I'm proud of him. :3

i think a lot of it has to do with perception based on who you play. I dont think henry should have won the heisman either but Reynolds wasnt anything to write home about this season either.

1.) HE BROKE A DIVISION I RECORD FOR MOST RUSHING TDs.

2.) LED NAVY TO ONE OF ITS BEST RECORDS IN A WHILE (10-2, I think).

3.) HE RAN FOR 7 TDS IN ONE GAME. CAM NEWTON AND OTHER HEISMAN WINNERS HAVE NEVER DONE THAT. EVER.

*Ahem.* Yeah, he's pretty flipping awesome. And a sailor. :3

*Ahem.* Yeah, he's pretty flipping awesome. And a sailor. :3

But is he better than Jeremy Johnson? I never saw Keenan Reynolds throw a pass behind him. :p

Ingram I'm still not entirely sure about. He carried us through our playoff game in Philly, so he has that, but he just needs to STOP RUNNING UP THE MIDDLE LIKE HE'S A LINEBACKER.

Henry looks like he runs the same way, from the bits I've seen. We'll see.

The problem is teams draft running backs and then they don't know how to properly develop them. We got lucky with Pierre Thomas, he was a hidden gem. We then got Bush, and while he was great, he didn't fit with New Orleans, because while we had Thomas, we were primarily a passing team. RBs were not our speciality, I don't think. But Detroit was good at developing RBs, thus they were willing to take him, and he became a star with them.

He's going to need to go to a team that does well with developing RBs, like Detroit, Kansas City (though with all the LSU players on that team it might be awkward, lol), or Philly. Otherwise, he's going to kinda get pushed to the backburner, which is what has happened with Melvin Gordon and Carlos Hyde, both of whom were phenomenal in college.

I dunno. That's just my thoughts. XD

Pineiro signed his LOI with Florida, Prukop's going to Oregon, Griffith might be quitting football due to injuries. Along with Kirby leaving and Joey still on the staff.

This offseason has to be the worst for Bama since 2003.

#2 is why he didnt get it, its perceived by a majority of fans and voters etc a like that unless you play in a p5 conference you play against nobodies and therefore any stats/records/win loss etc is only because you play against soft teams. This is part of why I say that all div1 conference champs should be put into a playoff somehow, since I believe there are ample non power 5 teams that could provide for some pretty exciting games/upsets.

Thats just it though, its still Bama, its still football, and Saban is still at the helm. They might be more vulnerable next season but its not never going to take Bama long to reload on talent in regards to players or staff, especially not with Saban running the show.
