Yeah, the call in that Miami-Duke game was total horseshit.

Miami's response? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(it's funny cos their program is in shambles and they got rekt 58-0 last week)

They were playing mad this week. Do you really blame 'em?

I'm surprised they pulled that eight-lateral off. That was the best game of hot potato I have

I say if we're going to punish Miami for that play, then we should punish Cal as well for 1982.

But, eh, shit happens. Duke will get them in shootyhoops.

Correction: Duke gets EVERYONE in shootyhoops.

Even Wisconsin. Though I was quite delighted last year when Wisconsin beat
Kentucky. The sound of brackets being shredded across the country...beautiful.

Back to football, I thought that play was hysterical. I dunno how they caught the officials
messing up at all, it happened so fast. I would have just let it all go, that play was incredible.

OSU you can chalk up to being the defending champs. Still debatable to have them in until they win out. But why Bama? They have one of the worst resumes of the contenders right now. Iowa has arguably played a better schedule while remaining undefeated. ND has a better loss and a better win at this point. Bama has one win over a ranked team right now and that's #25 TAMU.

I won't sit here and pretend OSU is much better off, but holy shit. Bama won't even win the division if Ole Miss wins out. This is just flat out pathetic. CFP poll might dictate the season, but I personally will not use it for any references I make.

In solidarity with Ukraine, I will be censoring the letters Z and V from my signature. This is -ery much so a big change, but it should be a -ery positi-e one. -olodymyr -elensky and A-o- continue to fight for Ukraine while the Russians are still trying to e-entually make their way to Kharki-, -apori-h-hia, and Kry-yi Rih, but that will take time as they are concentrated in areas like Bakhmut, -uledar, and other areas in Donetsk. We will see Shakhtar play in the Europa League but Dynamo Kyi- already got eliminated. Shakhtar managed to play well against Florentino Pere-'s Real Madrid who feature superstars like -inicius, Ben-ema, Car-ajal, and -al-erde. Some prominent Ukrainian players that got big transfers elsewhere include Oleksander -inchenko, Illya -abarnyi, and Mykhailo Mudryk.

OSU fans poking at Michigan fans? I honestly have no fuckin' clue with this one, it was just the first link I saw handily listing the coaching vacancies. The fact that George O'Leary is listed as a serious candidate is probably the most telling thing there.

Everything but the Bama and Ohio State rankings make sense. Ohio State has only played one team that's above .500, I'm okay with them being in the top four once they have a decent resume, but that time isn't right now. Maybe I'm a homer but I'd sooner put Florida in there because hey, at least they've gone and beaten a ranked team! In fact, you could put basically anyone else in the top ten in those two spots and probably have something more sensible.

I'm still reeling from what the Gators are doing this year, though. I knew McElwain would turn the program around, but I didn't expect it to happen this quickly.

Bama at #4 and Notre Dame at #5 invalidate the poll. Baylor and TCU so low makes zero sense.

Agreed. But then, it's not like the polls are known for being done intelligently. What kind of idiot thought Georgia at preseason #8 made any sense?

Phil Steele did, but his predictions are based on data indications. He, unlike random pundits, gives reasons why he thought they were a Top Ten team at the outset of the season.

OSU wins out and they're in, simple as that. As it stands, they have a tough gauntlet at the end.

But OSU at least has the benefit of the doubt of being the defending champ. Bama has done absolutely nothing to justify being where they are.

Any reasons anyone had were stupid. Georgia couldn't pick a quarterback from among a Virginia cast-off (that institution being known for its prolific pass offenses of late, ha!), a perennial backup who was known to be no more than a warm body, and a guy whose name sounds like Baton Twirler. Anyone who seriously thought Georgia could just ride Keith Marshall, Nick Chubb, or Sony Michel to a 10-2 or 11-1 record had to be out of their gourds.

Also, Mark Richt can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag, so there's that. Any tool could just ring up 6-8 wins in Athens every year. Hell, I could do it. The degree of talent UGA has access to is more than adequate, so that on its own should have been sufficient reason for people to think twice about ranking UGA as a top ten team—their coach sucks.

...considering they finished 10-3 and #9 last year, no, it wasn't that dumb. Nick Chubb was easily good enough to ride out to a ten win season. Richt is not an idiot, lol. You're absolutely looking at it from the perspective of hindsight.

"[The Bulldogs] have just three true SEC road games this year (Florida is a neutral site) and finished #9 in the country last year despite having a first year starting QB. They have a first year starter once again but field the best set of running backs in the country. [...] HC Mark Richt has never finished lower than third in his division in his fourteen years here and no other SEC team has done that. UGA has never won a national title under Richt and many fans believe he has underachieved because he raised expectations so high. [...] In Richt's second season ('02), he led Georgia to its first SEC title in twenty years and set a school record with thirteen wins (#3 AP). Only UGA and USC finished in the top ten each year from 2002-2005. UGA's D finished in the top twenty for seven straight years ('01-'07). [...] They were -3 net upsets last year and their +82.3 YPG in SEC play was best in the East (tied for second in the SEC). [...] Talent-wise, Georgia is one of the big boys in the SEC and are a legitimate SEC and national title contender."

This could be the reboot that the Warriors desperately need. Revive the Colt Brennan and Timmy Chang days, re-drop the "Rainbow" from "Warriors", and shelve those awful rainbow alt uniforms. #JuneWouldThrow

EDIT: Mario Cristobal or Butch Davis in at Miami? Thoughts?

Mario Cristobal's already coached in the Miami area and proved himself when he revived a very, very bad FIU program (that has since sunk again; his firing was perhaps the most shortsighted coaching move I've yet seen in CFB) - oh, and did I mention he can recruit like a boss, Al Golden's strong suit? Miami should pursue this man. He should do right by the 'Canes - he built a team that had almost no chance of succeeding into a contender.

Davis may be close to the program, but it's been a long, long time since his glory in piecing together the greatest college football team ever assembled. Oh, and there's that whole impending sanctions thing at UNC just waiting to blow up on him. Just due to possible NCAA action against him, like with Donnie Tyndall at Tennessee (college basketball), I don't consider it prudent - and that's regardless of my judgement of his on-the-field performance at North Carolina.
