Sorry if it came across as directly comparing those two. I was saying that by possibly solving one issue you may create another.

Unintended, unforseen consequences are a thing even when deciding what to eat for breakfast. We won't have a clue as to what those would be in this scenario until someone tries it.

That's true. But fights are easier to handle, I think. By their nature they're pretty public too.

Fights can also result in injuries and deaths. I remember talking with a corrections officer that fights are worse for a prison guard to deal with because it may escalate especially if one or more of the prisoners has a "crew" or "gang" in the prison.

I'd propose new training for guards if something like this were to go through. Because I'm am in no way advocating for rapes to continue as they are but I am cautious when anything that changes the status quo is proposed. Stick with the devil you know and all that.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Emmerdale, known as Emmerdale Farm until 1989, is a long-running British soap opera set in Emmerdale (known as Beckindale until 1994), a fictional village in the Yorkshire Dales. Created by Kevin Laffan, Emmerdale Farm was first broadcast on 16 October 1972. It is produced by ITV Yorkshire and has been filmed at their Leeds studios since its inception. The programme, which is currently the UK's second oldest television soap opera, has been transmitted in every ITV region throughout its existence.

The series was originally transmitted during daytime afternoons until 1978, when it was moved to an early evening timeslot in most regions (London and Anglia followed in the mid-1980s). Until December 1988, Emmerdale took seasonal breaks, but since then it has been broadcast year-round.

Emmerdale episodes air on the ITV network once every weekday evening at 19:00, with an additional second Thursday episode airing at 20:00. The programme began broadcasting in high definition from 10 October 2011. Emmerdale is the United Kingdom's second longest running television soap opera (after fellow ITV serial Coronation Street), and attracts on average 5–7 million viewers per episode.

Truthfully, female equality probably demands more of our attention, but that isn't to say that certain issues favor women over men - especially when it comes to rape or domestic abuse. I recall Fox News' Megyn Kelly was absolutely furious over a particular recent incident of a group of young men being wrongfully accused of rape, meanwhile the other networks hardly raised an eyebrow over their actual innocence... but had no problem hinting at their guilt? Not saying I hold Fox more credible than the others, but I am saying that (to an extent) discrimination against men does indeed exist as well... just not at the scale of discrimination against women.

I like that proposal. Like I said though it would need some new training with the guards though but that should be fairly simple to implement. It would have to be done discreetly though, prisoners respond very poorly to anything that is construed as a weakness (in typical prisons not minimum security but we aren't talking about those).

And giving female equality (not really equality in any way when it's only focusing on one side, empowerment might be more appropriate) as much attention as it has been given is probably one of the reasons very few media outlets gave a crap.

the only problem with the feminist movement is the fact that its been hijacked (at least in america) by men hating butch lesbians true feminism is about equality for both sexes, not that women are superior to men/men should be punished etc etc... and anyone who thinks rape should be legal is legitimately insane regardless of their gender...

As far as actually getting equality etc, with the exception of certain jobs or situations, gender and ethnicity shouldn't even be on job/college apps at all.

Migrant crisis: Grim find of bodies in Austria lorry

How they end the article.

They do not yet know whether women and children are among the victims, or how they died.
