So the average human being, all thing apportioned fairly, would use around 2 hectares of land on the planet and be able to survive comfortably.

In Africa, the average citizen uses 1.37 global hectares.
The average Indian uses 0.89 global hectares.
The Chinese have 2.11 hectares each, so about average.

And here's where it gets uncomfortable.

The average European uses 4.37; the average Brit uses 5.33; and the average American uses 9.42. Holy fuck.

Take it from the rest of Europe. The UK has some of the smallest houses in the EU.

We wonder why LEDCs don't develop more - this is clearly a large part of the reason. It's also entirely unsustainable.

That's what I was highlighting. I don't think I should be guilty for having the opportunities I have. Appreciative? Yes. But not guilty. It does seem a be a thing, though. Guilt should be related to personal responsibility, not circumstance.
