Depending on your interpretation of many of the major religions, most of us are going to hell, anyway.
We're damned if we don't summon a demon, so why not go and do it?
Nah, still wayyyy too risky. Apart from anything else there's a fair chance of collateral damage and people getting hurt/killed just because said Demon wanted to prove a point to me. I'd rather not have that on my conscience, hell or no hell.

Being an avowed sinner and opponent of organized religion, I don't hold much hope for my soul to escape eternal damnation anyway, so I might as well strike a pact with that demon for earthly gain. Say, becoming the most powerful man on Earth...
Before entering the pact though, I'd ask that demon if he'd take a certain number of other people's souls in my stead. Knowing how demons usually are, he'd probably ask for the souls of people important to me or something like that, so that would be a real tough one to decide.

Son, The Emperor of Humanity and his most humble servants of the Inquisition that infact do not exist are most disapointed at you.
You know very well you are to destroy everything Chaos related 'sigh', your Imperial ancestors are looking down at you with disgust

Quite a few in the said Inquisition that doesn't exist would disagree...

You are aware in the dream that this will summon a Demon.
Before you see what happens next, you wake up.
The next morning, you are having coffee when the mail man drops a package by the door. You open up the package and to your shock, you find the ancient purple book (it looks exactly as it does in your dream).
You decide to do some research. You go to your local library and read up everything you can find on the shelves and on the web on demons, incantations, demonic pacts, even some literature on the subject etc.
You draw your own conclusion based on this research.
You go home and you find the book waiting.
What do you do with the book?
Do you destroy it? Do you use it to summon a demon (and if so... why? Do you do it out of intellectual curiosity? Out of the hope that you can make a pact that can benefit you? Or for some other purpose?).
What do you do?
I think ultimately I would have to try it out and summon the demon. Otherwise, my curiosity will never let me sleep.
