Actually, in manycases this isn't true. There are a couple glaring exceptions (whales, elephants to name just two) but biologically speaking, brain mass is usually a reasonable gauge of intelligence among animals. I probably wouldn't go so far as to say that the aforementioned difference means that men are more intelligent than women, but elsewhere in the animal kingdom it's as good an indicator as any as to a species' aggregate intelligence.

I think you'll find that it's brain size in relation to body size that's an indicator of intelligence, not brain size per se.

I recall reading that women have a more concentrated IQ around 100- i.e fewer in the -70 and 130+ range, most in between, where-as men have a wider variety of IQs. For both the average is still roughly 100. This seems to fit in with my observations of the world...
