My mother language is Spanish, although I have an advanced dominion of English seemingly.

In Spanish, I refer to the isles as "Malvinas" although in English I call them "Falklands", chiefly due convenience (and the fact that an Argie won't get mad should he or she overhear me referring to the archipelago, and because I just got too used to knowing them as Malvinas, and it is hard to find an accurate translation of the term "Falklands").

However, Las Malvinas son Britanicas.

It's worth noting that there are plenty of locales and nations that are just called different things in English, and people get too butthurt about it. People whine so much about Myanmar being called Burma, and yet they don't call Norway 'Norge' or Sweden 'Sverige' or Germany 'Deutschland' etc. etc. It's just a thing that's common to language. The Chinese have their own words for countries, as do the Germans, French, ad infinitum. Should I be upset that Chinese people say Mei Guo instead of America? Should French people be upset that Germans call their country Frankreich? Seriously, it's the dumbest butthurt ever. 'Burma' is the way of saying 'Myanmar' in English. 'Falklands' is the way of saying 'Malvinas' in English.

In terms of naming, I am happy with the islands being called Malvinas by Spanish speakers and Falklands by English speakers/all others.

In terms of international status, self-determination takes precedence and the residents of the islands clearly opted to remain British. Definitively.
