Look, I hate smoking. Never tried it, never will and I'm all for banning it in all public areas. If you smoke in a public area then you should A) be kicked out of said area, B) fined or C) both. I also continually support increasing taxes on the sale of tobacco. However, to make it illegal is clearly over stepping a boundary. If it's done in a place that doesn't affect anyone else then you should have that choice.

And I agree with everyone who pointed out prohibition in the 20's as a perfect example why not to outlaw smoking.

Honestly, I think the percentage of people who smoke will continue to decline until it makes up a very, very small minority.

Vaping e-cigarettes is just as bad as smoking cigarettes. It releases very high levels of formaldehyde, an incredibly dangerous carcinogen.

Of course it should be banned in public places. It's a public health issue.
