White Pride: A good thing?

Why so many of you think white pride is bad? No, not ridiculous/silly, but bad? Can you give one reason?
Is it racist? No, racist is white supermacy not white pride. White pride may only be silly, but not bad. The SAME is for other prides (black, asian etc.).

In the US white pride is closely associated with white supremacy. In the US at least I a unaware of a single group that is pro white pride that is not also white supremacist.

Other pride groups are like the LGBT groups, they use the term pride, but in truth they mean there is no reason to feel shame.

Black Pride organizations were created as a response to generations of oppression and marginalization, and were intended to instill a sense of pride that had been nearly eliminated by centuries of ill treatment at the hands of whites.

White Pride organizations were created as a backlash against the success of Black Pride organizations and other, similar groups, and were meant to encourage continued white dominance over other races.

That's why they're bad: They were set up to discourage the concept of racial equality.

Being proud often leads to being prejudiced.

If you can be proud of something without feeling the need to force others to be proud of it with you, then being proud can be a good thing. When you start having negative feelings towards others who do not join you in your pride of whatever it is you are being proud of, especially if it causes you to look for ways to impose your will upon others, then pride is moving into the realm of prejudice, intolerance, and eventually hate.

Personally, I am peach color, not white. I've only seen a few pasty white albinos in my lifetime who can claim being a white race. I live in the U.S.A. where by the year 2050 the majority race will be interracial. Then again, a majority of so called "white people" in the U.S.A. are a mix of races to begin with with a heavy influence of Native American race in the mix.

I'm not proud nor am I ashamed of my skin color. It is what it is. I didn't buy it, earn it, choose it, etc. It's not an accomplishment or a defeat. It's the color of skin I was born with.

This has been on my mind lately. Is white pride a good thing?

In my opinion, white pride is a positive thing. I'm not a racist, and support pride of all other Races. I think it's good to be proud of Ones race.

Some people may think that Racial nationalism/pride is just a sanitized front for racism or racial supremacy. I do not think that one who is proud of their ethnicity a racist. I just think that they're proud to be white, black or whatever other race they are.

So NSG, what's your opinion on this topic?

I support the concept of Ethnic/Cultural pride.


To be clear however, I do not support the notions of Black and White, they taxonomic classifications that have very little to do with my biology, my lineage, etc etc.

That is to say, I am not Proud to be "White", I am proud of my heritage, my lineage, my history and the history of the peoples from I come. I consider being called "White" to be rather insulting, when it is applied to me as if "White" actually meant something besides its bigoted connotations.

Whiteness is traditionally defined is opposition to "color"; i.e. any other race that is not "white enough", so no. It's totally fine to be proud of being Scottish or Italian or whatever but pride in "the white race" belongs in the dustbin of history
